Role Purpose:
This role will focus on delivering the TACT mission of ‘delivering programmes and projects that make a difference to people’s lives by encouraging, supporting and promoting community action’. The Project Coordinator role is multifaceted and involves having a wide range of skills. We are looking for a resilient, flexible individual who likes working with people and has a ‘can do’ attitude. It is essential that you have the ability to build respectful, honest and trusted relationships with the beneficiaries, volunteers and our partners.

Background
Working in Saltcoats since 2014, Saltcoats Link Up has developed a unique asset-based community development approach to tackle inequality and disadvantage. It does this by enabling local people to help themselves, each other and their community.
Building on the strengths of our existing partnership on Link Up , The Ayrshire Community Trust (TACT) and Inspiring Scotland have secured an additional three-year investment to continue to develop our place-based work. This development maintains the original Link Up approach at its core but aims to establish new ways of working in which local people and organisations (public, social and commercial) collaborate to identify and develop sustainable opportunities and solutions to local issues; setting in place long-term changes that contribute to material reductions in poverty and disadvantage in Saltcoats. We seek to make these changes the ‘norm’ rather than part of a cycle of time-limited pilots and projects.

Your focus will be on the continued development of our core Link Up approach1. The Ayrshire Community Trust are recruiting for an additional Project Worker to join The Positive Steps with Partners Project Funded by North Ayrshire Council’s Your Next Move Employability Partnership.
The role is a demanding but a rewarding role for a person with drive and initiative. The post holder will be required to work with a degree of flexibility supporting long term unemployed people of North Ayrshire in their journey towards employment.
The post holder will co-deliver a combination of in-house Personal Development Sessions, arranging partner information/training sessions, case manage volunteers and support volunteer progression onto a variety of positive destinations.
Our ideal candidate will have significant experience of working with people from various backgrounds. Such as people experiencing poor mental and physical wellbeing, low confidence low motivation, Self-belief and mindset issues and will be able to demonstrate a range of qualities, abilities and experience such as:
• Demonstrably excellent communication skills
• Strong team player skills
• A successful track record of supporting volunteers/individuals to work towards realistic and achievable goals.
• Ability to adapt to individual needs
• Experience of providing support on a 1:1 and group basis.
• The ability to manage and motivate volunteers
• Ability to network, promote project and attract new referral routes
• Work to achieve project targets
• Ability to review and evaluate progress within own practice and that of the volunteers involved

Note: TACT and Inspiring Scotland will also be launching a second recruitment process for a Community Development Worker (reporting to the Manager) to join our Saltcoats Link Up team. This will be advertised in the next week or so.
To implement a place-based approach and deliver a high-quality service to communities and partners, with a focus on improving life chances and empowering people to make positive changes through a capacity building approach. Key work areas will be to support the Community Empowerment agenda via Community Asset Transfer (CAT).
The Community Asset Transfer (CAT) Development Officer will be part of the Third Sector Interface (TSI) Team and will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality services to the communities of North Ayrshire.
This role will focus on delivering the TACT mission of ‘delivering programmes and projects that make a difference to people’s lives by encouraging, supporting and promoting community action’. The CAT Development Officer will provide a wide range of information and support to North Ayrshire groups and organisations with an interest in Community Asset Transfer.
