As a Trustee, you will help guide and support this important work, contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives every day. As we embark on an exciting new strategic phase, we are looking for people who are passionate about our cause and we welcome applications from both experienced Trustees and individuals new to Board roles who can demonstrate the judgement, confidence and strategic perspective required of charity Trustees.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of being affected by crime, and we are also looking to increase the diversity of Board members. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and communities to apply for Trustee positions, as we believe that a diverse board enhances our ability to provide effective support to victims, representative of our communities.

We are particularly interested in applicants who bring strength in one or more of the following areas:

• Strategic development and organisational transformation – including shaping, delivering or governing strategy in complex or changing environments.

• Organisational sustainability – including income diversification, partnership working, or long term financial viability.

• Criminal justice system experience – policy, practice or leadership experience within justice, statutory or related public services impacting victims and witnesses.

• Charity governance and board leadership – experience as a trustee, non executive, committee chair or senior leader with a strong understanding of good governance.

By joining the Board at this point, Trustees will help shape Victim Support Scotland’s next chapter and contribute to strong, sustainable governance that supports victims and witnesses across Scotland for years to come.

What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Whole Family Support Worker, 21 hours per week, fixed-term for a period of 12 months.

Working week will be between the following days and hours:

• Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm & Saturdays 10am - 4pm

Salary band: £27,598 - £36,445 (pro-rata).Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

Primary location:Motherwell. You will be expected to cover North Lanarkshire and throughout this locality area.

Reporting directly to the Locality Manager, you will take responsibility for overseeing this project. The Family Support Worker will lead the development and pilot of a Trauma-Informed Family Support Service across North Lanarkshire, designed to test a preventative approach to supporting families impacted by crime, including domestic abuse, assault, theft, fraud, and severe or persistent antisocial behaviour.

Through a coordinated, whole-family approach, the postholder will provide early intervention and tailored support to strengthen family wellbeing, build resilience, and prevent issues from escalating into crisis. This innovative model aims to move beyond traditional individual victim support, delivering a more holistic and effective response to the needs of families affected by crime.

During the pilot year, the role will provide direct support to up to 20 families affected by crime or antisocial behaviour. Beneficiaries will include adults, children, and young people, with a particular focus on families living in areas of deprivation and those experiencing hidden or underreported harms.

The Family Support Worker will undertake comprehensive assessments of need and risk, develop and review tailored support plans, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to coordinate effective, person-centred support. Operating within the Victim Support Scotland framework, the postholder will uphold victims' rights, maintain accurate and confidential case records, and contribute to the development of peer support opportunities where appropriate.

Families will receive a bespoke, trauma-informed support plan focused on early intervention, stabilisation, resilience-building, and improved wellbeing, helping to prevent issues from escalating into crisis.

In addition to delivering one-to-one and family-based support, the postholder will work closely with the Locality Manager and wider team to develop and strengthen local and national partnerships, establish effective referral pathways, and raise awareness of Victim Support Scotland's services to ensure families can access the support they need at the earliest opportunity.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Coordinator (Armed Forces) on a fixed-term contract basis for 2 years, 30 hours per week. Working week will be between the following days and hours:

Salary band: £27,598 - £36,445 (pro-rata). Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

Primary location: Kirkcaldy, Fife. Travel is not a daily requirement of the role, however there will be occasions when travel across Scotland is necessary.

As part of this role, you will provide specialist support to individuals from Armed Forces communities who have been affected by domestic abuse. Working in partnership with Scottish Women’s Aid, you will deliver tailored one-to-one support, helping individuals feel safe, listened to, informed, and empowered to make choices about their future.

Reporting to the Locality Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services across your locality, ensuring support is accessible, effective, and responsive to the needs of victims and witnesses. You will contribute to the successful implementation of service plans and help ensure individuals receive the guidance and support they need at the right time.

A key aspect of the role will be coordinating and supporting a team of dedicated volunteers who provide services to Armed Forces communities affected by domestic abuse. You will lead on volunteer recruitment, induction, training, development, and ongoing supervision, ensuring volunteers are equipped to deliver compassionate, person-centred support. Through strong leadership and effective coordination, you will help ensure services achieve positive outcomes for those who need them most.
