For over 50 years, Sacro has been at the forefront of supporting people in Scotland’s justice system, helping them find pathways to positive change. We also provide vital support to victims and their families, vulnerable individuals in crisis, and people at risk of offending.

We actively listen to the voices of those we support, shaping our services around their needs while recognizing the profound impact of trauma on their lives. Our goal is to deliver life-changing services that empower individuals, foster hope and protection, and contribute to building safer communities.

This is a pivotal and exciting time to join Sacro. We are leading the largest Public Social Partnership in the justice sector, working alongside eight charities to deliver transformative voluntary throughcare support across Scotland. This groundbreaking initiative will provide consistent, person-centred support at a critical point in people’s lives, creating opportunities for meaningful change. By working collaboratively, we aim to reduce reoffending, ease the transition from custody to community, and help build safer, more connected communities.

At Sacro, we are committed to inclusivity and diversity of thought, background, and experience. Prior board experience is not essential—we are looking for individuals who share our values and are passionate about empowering people, offering hope and protection, and strengthening communities.

We are seeking several new board members with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Justice Sector Experience & Knowledge – Understanding of Scotland’s justice system or experience supporting individuals facing challenges such as domestic abuse, addiction, and homelessness.
  • People & Culture – Expertise in fostering inclusive, equitable, and supportive organisational environments that prioritise employee well-being and development.
  • Income Diversification & Sustainable Funding – Experience developing innovative strategies for financial sustainability through diverse income streams, with knowledge of third-sector funding challenges.
  • Social Justice – A passion for driving societal change and addressing systemic inequalities through advocacy, policy, or front-line service provision.
  • Project & Programme Delivery – Proven experience in leading and overseeing complex
