Looking for flexible sessional counselling work within an established mental health organisation?

RAMH is recruiting Sessional Adult Counsellors to work across our counselling services in East Renfrewshire, East Ayrshire and Renfrewshire.

Whether you are looking to add sessional work alongside an existing role, build your therapeutic experience or develop your practice, we would be keen to hear from you.

Opportunities are available across our different local authority areas and you do not need to work across all three. We are happy to discuss the locality, days and availability that work best for you alongside the needs of our services.

The Role

You will provide confidential, person-centred counselling to adults experiencing difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing. Counselling is delivered predominantly face-to-face within local communities, alongside telephone and online counselling where appropriate.

You will join experienced counselling and mental health teams, with opportunities for professional support, reflective practice, training and development.

About You

You will:

  • Hold a recognised Diploma in Counselling.
  • Be registered with BACP, COSCA or NCPS.
  • Be accredited or actively working towards individual accreditation.
  • Have experience of working therapeutically with adults experiencing difficulties with their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Be a reflective practitioner with strong communication and therapeutic relationship skills.
  • Maintain confidential records and contribute to outcome monitoring and service evaluation.

Why Join RAMH?

We offer flexible sessional opportunities, the chance to work within established community mental health services and access to RAMH's extensive training and development programme.

Our wider benefits include a 24-hour online GP service, occupational sick pay, staff counselling service, day-one death in service insurance, Cycle to Work Scheme, Blue Light Card eligibility, our £200 Join the Team referral scheme, and a competitive annual leave allowance that increases with length of service.

Benefits may change over time but are accurate at the time of this advert.

Interested?

We would be happy to have an informal conversation about the opportunities available, locations and what sessional counselling with RAMH could look like for you.

For an informal discussion, please contact Fiona McCrae, Service Manager – Grant Funded Projects & Development or Lee Millar – Service Manager at enquiries@ramh.org

Working closely with the Service Manager, you will combine day-to-day coordination with staff supervision and service improvement. This is an opportunity to use your experience, develop your leadership skills and contribute to the quality of support people receive.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to respond calmly when priorities change.
  • Confidence communicating with staff, people receiving support and partner organisations.
  • Experience contributing to service quality, managing resources and monitoring performance.
  • A commitment to respectful, person-centred support.

Qualifications and registration: SVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) and eligible for SSSC registration at Manager level.
