Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives? We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in this varied role which is suitable for someone who is accurate and organised, but also curious, improvement-minded and keen to contribute beyond transactional processing.
You will need experience of being in an Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) end-to-end role with knowledge of VAT reporting and requirements and a strong understanding of month end and reconciliations.
You will have excellent attention to detail with the ability to build relationships and to work in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders. The post holder will be highly proficient in the use of Excel and have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work calmly under pressure. Experience of XLedger cloud accounting software and/or Raiser’s Edge CRM software would be an advantage but not essential.
About the role
The Accounts Assistant will work closely with the Financial Controller and colleagues across the organisation, taking ownership of key AP and AR processes while also acting as a trusted finance contact for teams, helping them understand processes, resolve queries and make confident, well-informed decisions.
You will maintain strong financial controls and processes across the AP and AR functions, ensuring compliance with accounting requirements as well as identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies across AP and AR, including opportunities for automation.
The post holder will support the month-end including reconciliations, accruals, journals and ensuring the AP ledger reconciles to TB. You will prepare and review VAT workings and returns, ensuring accurate VAT treatment, reconciliations and timely submissions.
