Garvald Edinburgh is a well-established and respected local charity, which provides high quality, personalised support to people with a learning disability.

We work across 4 premises that support multi-activity workshops as well as a crafts shop/gallery. We are based in Edinburgh and the Lothians where our members (service users) and talented staff, work together within a supportive, creative environment, which enables members to develop friendships, forge new skills, explore their creativity and produce a range of high-quality arts and products.

Some of the extensive range of opportunities available to our members include artwork, pottery, jewellery, textiles, woodworking, catering and baking, puppetry and performance, and land work.

Following the retirement of our long-standing CEO, we are seeking a new Chief Executive to provide dynamic and forward-thinking leadership; to help us navigate our way through the ever-evolving social care environment and, with the support of our well-established senior management team, nurture and build upon our unique service delivery model, which places our members at the heart of everything that we do.

We will expect you to have senior level experience within a social care setting or similar and to be able to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and abilities expected of a Chief Executive; including leading a diverse senior management team, operational planning, financial management, policy development and delivery of strategic priorities set by the Board of Directors.

Our members would like someone who is visible, approachable and who listens to what they have to say.
