We are looking for a Parish Assistant or Deacon to support the work of the interim minister to help develop relationships and fellowship in the congregation through assisting the minister in a range of pastoral, congregational and community-related activities.
The hope is the congregation will move into a season of more settled, refreshed and missional ministry in their very large parish, ensuring a flourishing viable congregation moving forward with the postholder providing a greater level of continuity after the period of interim ministry ends.

This is a full-time role with an agreed flexible/reactive working pattern. However, to accommodate the right candidate, there is the opportunity to apply on a part time basis.
Supporting the work of the Theological Forum, you will act as Secretary, working closely with the Convener to ensure that meetings and activities are organised and managed effectively. You will contribute to the Forum’s work by conducting research, drafting papers, and providing informed theological analysis and commentary on matters considered by both the Forum and the Church’s Standing Committees.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a degree in Theology and possess a strong understanding of Church of Scotland doctrine. You will have significant experience working in a theological environment, including familiarity with Reformed theology, as well as a sound knowledge of current theological issues. You will be able to engage confidently with a wide range of individuals and groups, discussing, analysing, and reporting on complex theological matters.
The successful candidate must be a committed Christian with an active church connection. This requirement is a Genuine Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010.

Bennachie Parish Church was created in 2023 following the union of Blairdaff & Chapel of Garioch, Cluny & Monymusk, Echt & Midmar, Kemnay and Kintore Churches, and are looking for an Outreach Parish Assistant who will play a key role within the Parish. The role will help develop creative, sustainable and meaningful ways of outreach and connection within the wider parish and local communities and further strengthen our links with our own membership and to explore fresh expressions of all-age worship.
The successful candidate will have experience of Outreach to families and/or adults aged 18-40 as well as experience of developing, running and evaluating events. You will be comfortable in a variety of congregational settings, including informal, formal and interactive, with excellent communication skills and team working.
