We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced care/support practitioner, to line manage our team of Support Workers within our fabulous residential service based in Elderslie.
At Wallace Court we support adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and sensory impairment, to live independently within their private accommodation on site. For the people we support, this is home. Our days are filled with laughter, with a focus on activities on site and externally, from football day trips to visits from traveling zoo’s, our service prides itself on being customer led.
Our closeknit team of Team Leaders, help our support staff to provide 24-hour support 7 days a week, and they require a motivated and enthusiastic leader to join the team.

About the Role
You will be required to co-ordinate and supervise a team of support staff in delivering a high standard of social care practice using a person-centred approach that reflects individual customer's needs wants and aspirations. As a Team Leader you will occasionally work on the floor delivering direct care including medication administration, personal care and moving and assisting. Meaning it’s not all about paperwork, you still get some hands on practice.
A key part of this role is to coach, monitor, mentor and develop the skill base within the staff team, you will do this by displaying Leadership skills such as role modelling, decision making, being an effective communicator, having a positive attitude, commitment and confidence in the role.
We have a set shift pattern, 39 hours per week, typically 5/7 on a 4-week rota so you always know when you are working; early, back and late shifts, as well as weekends and on call, which is planned in advance, enabling you to plan life outside of work responsibilities.

About the role
At Capability Scotland our North Lanarkshire, care at home & supported Living Services provide 24-hour care to adults in their own homes and community.
You will assist with their daily living routines, enabling them to live independently by supporting with domestic tasks and money/utility bill management. You will attend to their care needs such as; personal care, dressing, medication, communication and mealtimes support.
With a customer led focus, they will determine what your shift looks like, sometimes facilitating their attendance at college, appointments, lunch visits with friends or recreational activities and social events.
Depending on who you are matched to support, you could be assisting them to enjoy regular attendance at football matches, day centres, shopping, sporting or cinema trips.

What you need to know
It is essential that you are a driver with access to a vehicle, due to the logistical demands of this role.
Hours: Up to 37 hours per week. We can offer a variety of hours/shifts, including evenings and weekends. Sleepover shifts are also available.
Overtime at enhanced hourly rates is available.
Location: Our customers are based in Wishaw & Shotts / Hamilton / Motherwell & Bellshill /Coatbridge & Airdrie. (ML1-ML7)

We are looking for drivers due to the location of our customers and their support needs. If you do need to go out and about with our customer, for that dinner or cinema trip, your costs are covered.
