Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our organisation. BEFS works across policy and strategy to ensure a sustainable future for Scotland’s built environment.

The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping BEFS future, providing leadership and strategic vision. You will manage a small, dedicated team, cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, and champion the interests of the built environment sector.

Who we are looking for:

  • A confident and resourceful leader with a proven track record in managing organisations of similar size.
  • An excellent communicator with strong written, oral, and presentational skills.
  • An experienced networker with the ability to build strong relationships at senior level.
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and organisational development.
  • A champion for the historic and existing built environment in Scotland.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage the BEFS team, overseeing networking, policy development, and organisational development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including Scottish Ministers, Parliamentarians, and industry leaders.
  • Develop and implement a strategic direction for BEFS, including securing sustainable funding.
  • Oversee effective governance, resource management, and budget control.

What we offer:

  • Salary range: £45,000 – £52,000
  • Permanent role, subject to funding
  • 37.5 working hours with some evening events and travel throughout Scotland.
  • Home working with regular meetings in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
