Bethany’s Housing Support Fife is a dynamic and growing service providing multiple types of housing support in Levenmouth, Glenrothes and North East Fife areas. Bethany Christian Trust is looking for a part-time male support worker to be part of our Short-Term Housing Support team.

Short-term housing support helps people keep their tenancy, giving practical support to help people manage their home and daily life. Support is person-centred, which means we tailor it to individual needs and goals. The successful post holder will work as part of a team delivering flexible and person-centred support to people in a wide variety of situations to meet their housing needs.

You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. You will be passionate about supporting people to achieve greater independence and you will be able to build positive relationships with people from a wide range of backgrounds. We would welcome applicants with lived experience of these issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Practitioner’ is desirable; the willingness to work towards this is essential.

The purpose of this role is primarily to provide high-quality administrative support to our Head of Retail and Shop Managers. This will involve coordinating key retail functions such as our EPOS System, Gift Aid, marketing, reporting, shop promotions, health and safety. The post holder will be based at our office on Bonnington Road, but the role will require regular visits to each of our eight retail locations across Edinburgh, East Lothian and Glasgow. Strong administration, communication and problem-solving skills are essential to this role, and retail experience is preferable.

Our mission is to relieve the suffering and meet the long-term needs of people who are homeless and vulnerable in Scotland. To support us in achieving that, our eight charity shops aim to successfully raise our profile, generate significant shop income and increase donations.

As a proactive and organised individual, you will contribute towards Bethany’s Retail success by assisting the Head of Retail and Shop Managers to meet our strategic and operational goals. As Retail Coordinator, you will be required to work independently, prioritise and complete varied tasks, including providing retail insights in data analysis, complex organisation of staff, coordinating training and planning future events. You will be responsible for maximising Gift Aid income and will have regular shop visits across the Central Belt.

We are looking for a Project Worker to join our team at Bethany Christian Centre, a supported residential community for men who are homeless, providing assistance to individuals in their recovery from addiction.

As a Project Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the residential unit, providing emotional and practical support to the residents in overcoming addiction, and enabling them to live independently through support planning, assessments and key working and delivering group-work sessions.

An excellent team player with great communication skills, you will have experience and knowledge of our service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office tools is essential. SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent is desirable, coupled with experience in a Residential/Housing support setting. Lived experience of addiction and recovery, or experience of supporting someone through recovery, would be an advantage.

Starting salary: £27,280 gross per annum pro rata (the role involves regular sleepover, which are paid in addition to your salary)

Permanent Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

Holiday entitlement: 225 hours per year pro rata
