The role
We are at a highly exciting stage in the reshaping of our services as we build sustainable, resilient, therapeutic, and inclusive registered day care and commissioned community supports of the highest quality that can maximise our resources and potential growth opportunities.
Based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, the Head of Quality will work in close collaboration with the Executive Lead for Operations to ensure that our registered and commissioned services deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care. The role will be responsible for assuring and improving the quality of our registered and commissioned services by determining and undertaking appropriate scrutiny, assurance and improvement activities aligned with the Care Inspectorate Core Assurances and Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees and Continuous Quality Improvement Framework.
The role has the lead responsibility for continuous improvement in the quality of our services, the processes that underpin high quality, evidence based, person-centred therapeutic support and in ensuring better outcomes for the people we support.

You will have the right level of personal qualities, experience, knowledge and qualifications, demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and high levels of emotional intelligence, with experience of managing people, supporting staff development and promoting a positive culture. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised with a collaborative approach to working with others to deliver shared objectives and drive continuous improvement in our practice. You will have a high-level knowledge and understanding of dementia and substantial experience in the management and delivery of services and hold a relevant practice qualification to meet the Scottish Social Services Council registered management requirements. We are seeking applicants with a proven track record in leadership within a health and social care service (or related) background to work in this key senior role and make a positive difference to the lives of people living with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and the families and friends who care for someone with dementia.

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of People Living with Dementia in Dumfriesshire?
We are looking for unique people to join our team of Community Activity Organisers, within our community groups and dementia specific day service in Dumfries. Our groups and day services are personalised to the preferences and needs of individuals, providing therapeutic activities with a focus on maintaining skills and independence.
Our Community Activity Organisers are so important in providing front line support. Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia and a passion to make a difference. You will have good communication skills, a caring attitude and most of all enthusiasm for the role. Supporting individuals to keep connected to their local communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support. Developing ideas and leading the way towards exciting and new activities to promote brain health.
The use of a car is preferred (mileage and expenses are paid).
A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) and registration with the SSSC is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

Are you a creative and motivated individual with the passion and drive to support people with a recent diagnosis of dementia to live well in their community?
If so, you can be part of a National Team of Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers (PDS Link Workers) providing high-quality, person-centred support to people living with dementia and their families for a minimum of a year following diagnosis in line the Scottish Government’s minimum guarantee.
The aim of the PDS National Service is to enable people to live well with dementia and is centred around Alzheimer Scotland's 5 pillar model so that people move on to a period of supported self- management.
The model includes understanding the illness and coming to terms with the diagnosis, peer support, connecting and maintaining links with their community along with planning for future care and decision making to develop an outcome focused plan to support their future hopes, desires and aspirations.
Supporting our Highland locality, the post will be based within the Community Mental Health Team at Newcraigs Hospital, Inverness. Alzheimer Scotland’s PDS Link Workers are required to be effective team workers and have the skills to build and maintain relationships with colleagues both within Alzheimer Scotland, the NHS and other stakeholders.
Skills in using digital platforms are essential as we use a blended approach to support people that involve some virtual meetings and on-line groups.
Applicants must hold a recognised relevant professional qualification, have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects people and their families along with excellent communication skills, a warm flexible approach, combined with skills in empathy and relationship building.
In addition, you should have skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Level of the Promoting Excellence Framework or be able to evidence you are working towards its completion.

The role
The successful candidate will be joining a small, fast paced and highly flexible HR team at an exciting time with the launch of new recruitment across the country, as well as a full HR system review. No two days will be the same and, as HR Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the organisation on recruitment, providing accurate and timely reports and implementing scheduled system changes in our HR platform, iTrent. You will also lead on maintaining and providing accurate payroll information on a monthly basis. This is a highly collaborative role and you’ll be expected to proactively work with managers to support them on recruitment, queries and advice on policies and procedures. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with other members of the team on recruitment, system and process reviews.
The person
You’ll enjoy working with systems in recruitment, reports and organisational data and have a keen eye for detail and ways to improve processes. The successful candidate will have experience working in a previous HR role and have experience of recruitment, HR systems and reporting. We’re looking for candidates who are used to a busy workload and are comfortable working independently. Flexibility in approach and to competing priorities is essential.
Alzheimer Scotland supports people living with dementia and their carers, some of these people are under the age of 65 years old. We are looking for unique individuals who can support younger people living with dementia in Glasgow.
Our support workers are our most important people as they help individuals to maintain skills and independence by providing support to enable them to be active within their communities, participate in therapeutic activities and enjoy social stimulation.
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia.
They will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

We are looking for a Community Connexions Outreach Worker for the Fife area. You will be involved in supporting people living with dementia to establish personal goals and outcomes and help them to achieve these. The Outreach service is a short-term intervention and support service offering guidance and assistance to people living with dementia and their carers to help live life to the full and as independently as possible. This may involve helping to reduce social isolation, building confidence in using public transport, engaging with the local community and much more!
The successful applicant will have a positive approach to dementia. You will be flexible, inclusive, creative, and organised in your approach. You will be sensitive and compassionate with the ability to support people in times of difficulty or distress. You will be an excellent communicator who can work effectively both with individuals and with groups. You will have a positive approach to your own continued professional development and a willingness to participate in relevant training. A relevant qualification and previous experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
