We are looking for a Community Connections Outreach Worker for the Fife area. You will be involved in supporting people living with dementia to establish personal goals and outcomes and help them to achieve these. The Outreach service is a short-term intervention and support service offering guidance and assistance to people living with dementia and their carers to help live life to the full and as independently as possible. This may involve helping to reduce social isolation, building confidence to use public transport, engaging with the local community and much more!

The successful applicant will have a positive approach to dementia. You will be flexible, inclusive, creative, and organised in your approach. You will be sensitive and compassionate with the ability to support people in times of difficulty or distress. You will be an excellent communicator who can work effectively both with individuals and with groups. You will have a positive approach to your own continued professional development and a willingness to participate in relevant training. A relevant qualification and previous experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of People Living with Dementia in Inverclyde?

We are looking for unique people to join the team at our dementia specific day service in Greenock. Our day services are personalised to the preferences and needs of individuals, providing therapeutic activities with a focus on maintaining skills and independence. The day services in Greenock are open Monday to Friday.

Our Day Services Practitioners are our most important people as they provide front line support. Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. Supporting individuals to keep connected to their communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support. Contributing to activity development and leading the way towards exciting and new activities to promote brain health.

The use of a car is preferred (mileage and expenses are paid).

A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) and registration with the SSSC is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
