What you’ll do
The Support Worker will provide a combination of personal care, care at home and housing support to people with dementia in their own homes. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team that will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided.
We are looking for a unique person who can support people with dementia, living within their own home in a Supported Living Service, personalised to the tenants needs.
Our support workers are our most important people as they provide front line support.
Our support workers help tenants to maintain skills and independence by providing support and care with all aspects of daily living.
You will be working shifts, including Day Shift, Back Shift and Nightshift and will be working weekends and Public Holidays to meet the needs of the people you support.
What you’ll have
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia is essential.
You will have or be willing to work towards an SVQ level 3 in Care.

What you’ll do
This rewarding opportunity in the Fundraising & Engagement Team at Alzheimer Scotland reports into the Fundraising & Engagement Leader (Partnerships) and focuses on our trust and corporate partnerships applications, as well as delivering the full stewardship for our trust and foundation relationships.
This role can be based in either of our city offices in Glasgow or Edinburgh, and for supporting wider team activity, there will be very occasional travel to elsewhere in Scotland.
You will play a crucial role in cultivating and nurturing relationships, drafting compelling cases for support and liaising with colleagues around Alzheimer Scotland to deliver a first-class supporter journey.
What you’ll have
The successful candidate will have strong experience in writing copy and storytelling, a keen eye for detail, a collaborative nature and will also be able to work independently.
Aligned to the charity ethos, you must have a positive attitude towards dementia.

At present, there are an estimated 8,464 citizens living with dementia in Edinburgh. Around 300 of these people are under the age of 65 years old.

Working as part of the Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections team you will have responsibility for ensuring that services are of the highest quality and meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support.
You will work with the wider team and Day Services Manager to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred, therapeutic Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will contribute to evidencing, reviewing and continually improving the quality of the services and will participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections.
You may operate within a building-based Day Care or as part of a Community Connection team delivering Community Groups and Outreach services across an allocated area. At times, this will involve working without supervision in the absence of the Day Services Manager.
You will work with the wider team to evidence that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate where relevant. This includes ensuring that the activities and support offered meet the identified personal outcomes of those attending the services.
What you’ll have
The successful candidate will have a good understanding and/or experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families. This will include an understanding of the benefit of high quality, evidence based therapeutic activity, ongoing evaluation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the Care Inspectorate and their role in registered services.
Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment and Brain Health and experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families.
The successful candidate will have a recognised professional qualification in health, social work or related field, to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2)

The role
This key role will provide comprehensive and robust administration support to our busy office in Glasgow. The role will support all aspects of administration, reception, call handing as well as providing general office support to ensure the smooth running of the office. The role will also be responsible for administration to support the People & Facilities portfolio, as well all aspects of our work in our premises and will be flexible in nature to adapt to the priorities of the charity at any set time.
The person
You’ll have at least one year’s experience of providing administrative support within a busy office or similar environment, although above all you will have high attention to detail, adopt a flexible approach and a willingness to undertake a wide and varied range of tasks. We’re looking for someone who has the confidence to operate within a team and engage with people at all levels, internally and externally. You’ll have excellent IT skills and be confident in using all Microsoft Office packages as well as knowledge of how an office operates on a daily basis.

You will coordinate and deliver an exciting national engagement project, travelling with our giant inflatable brain exhibit to raise awareness of brain health in schools, communities, and public spaces. This includes planning logistics, managing event set-up and take-down, delivering interactive educational sessions to a wide range of audiences, and supporting associated volunteer and fundraising activities. You’ll be the driving force behind the tour’s day-to-day success - organising schedules, liaising with venues, and ensuring each event runs smoothly, safely, and with impact.

Supporting individuals to keep connected to their local communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support. Developing ideas and leading the way towards exciting and new activities to promote brain health. Our groups are community based, and the Community Activity Organiser is responsible for the planning and delivery of all activities, ensuring reflective practice through our activity evaluations and feedback from the people we support.
What you’ll have
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia and brain health, with a passion to make a difference. You will have good communication and computer skills, a caring attitude and most of all enthusiasm for the role. You will be confident in planning activities in advance and leading any volunteers supporting at your group.
