The role

We are at a highly exciting stage in the reshaping of our services as we build sustainable, resilient, therapeutic, and inclusive registered day care and commissioned community supports of the highest quality that can maximise our resources and potential growth opportunities.

Based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, the Head of Quality will work in close collaboration with the Executive Lead for Operations to ensure that our registered and commissioned services deliver high quality, safe and compassionate care. The role will be responsible for assuring and improving the quality of our registered and commissioned services by determining and undertaking appropriate scrutiny, assurance and improvement activities aligned with the Care Inspectorate Core Assurances and Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees and Continuous Quality Improvement Framework.

The role has the lead responsibility for continuous improvement in the quality of our services, the processes that underpin high quality, evidence based, person-centred therapeutic support and in ensuring better outcomes for the people we support.

Alzheimer Scotland supports people living with dementia and their carers, some of these people are under the age of 65 years old. We are looking for unique individuals who can support younger people living with dementia in Glasgow.

Our support workers are our most important people as they help individuals to maintain skills and independence by providing support to enable them to be active within their communities, participate in therapeutic activities and enjoy social stimulation.

Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia.

They will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

We have an exciting opportunity to join Alzheimer Scotland as a Transactional Finance Manager. This is a new role due to growth in Alzheimer Scotland’s finance team and income.

This role will lead on our day to day financial transactions across all areas. The transactions are varied and high volume and the successful candidate will ensure these are co-ordinated, planned and developed alongside the finance team.

The role will have line management and supervisory responsibility for the support, development and management of a team of finance assistants.

We are seeking applications from individuals with at least 4 years’ experience of working in a transactional finance role within a complex organisation alongside management and supervisory experience and who possess the skills to take on the tasks outlined in the job description.

You will have had significant exposure to the full finance function and will be a strong communicator and able to balance competing priorities ensuring routine workload along side ad-hoc tasks, analysis and reporting is completed to a high standard within deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Organisation and provide a key contribution to the work of Brain Health Scotland which is the prevention arm of Alzheimer Scotland. Additionally, the role will provide a strong research contribution to the overall work of Alzheimer Scotland with the post holder being a key resource for people with lived experience, colleagues and external stakeholders. Two fantastic leadership opportunities have become available within the Fundraising & Engagement Team. The roles will work closely together with the role of Fundraising and Engagement Leader – Individuals leading on the delivery of significant income from key income streams. The second vacancy, Fundraising and Engagement Leader - Operations will lead the team’s use of data, reporting and analysis.

Both Fundraising & Engagement Leaders will report to the Head of Fundraising & Engagement, collaboratively leading the team’s delivery of our strategic objectives.

For the Individuals role, we would like to hear from anyone who has Individual Giving experience. In particular, this role will focus on the strategy and implementation of our individual giving, campaigns, third party events and community fundraising.

The role

The successful candidate will be joining a small, fast paced and highly flexible HR team at an exciting time with the launch of new recruitment across the country, as well as a full HR system review. No two days will be the same and, as HR Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the organisation on recruitment, providing accurate and timely reports and implementing scheduled system changes in our HR platform, iTrent. You will also lead on maintaining and providing accurate payroll information on a monthly basis. This is a highly collaborative role and you’ll be expected to proactively work with managers to support them on recruitment, queries and advice on policies and procedures. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with other members of the team on recruitment, system and process reviews.

The person

You’ll enjoy working with systems in recruitment, reports and organisational data and have a keen eye for detail and ways to improve processes. The successful candidate will have experience working in a previous HR role and have experience of recruitment, HR systems and reporting. We’re looking for candidates who are used to a busy workload and are comfortable working independently. Flexibility in approach and to competing priorities is essential.
