About Aberlour Glasgow Early Intervention Service…

Our Aberlour Glasgow Early Intervention Service will work in partnership with children and young people (aged 12 years and under) and their families to develop relationship-based, strengths-focused whole family support.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring our young people live their best lives and have opportunities to develop and grow. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role. We are looking for someone who will contribute to the leadership, management, and development of the service for children, young people and their families in line with agreed objectives and assist with service review and evaluation. Working 37.5 hours per week, these hours will be worked flexibly Monday – Sunday 8am – 10pm to suit the needs of our families.

Ideally you will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 8 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children or young people and their families.

About Aberlour’s New Family Advice and Community Connection Service

We are providing early support and advice to families who may feel they have become a bit stuck or who are looking for some information, advice, signposting or referrals to other services.

All families with children under the age of 18, living in Perth and Kinross, can contact us directly to access our new service. Working alongside families we will offer personalised support on family matters, when they need it most, in locations to suit them.

As part of this team you would provide a service and lifeline for these families.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for an experienced, adaptable individual who can bring fresh, innovative and flexible approaches to family support. Working 37.5 hours per week, applicants must be flexible in order to deliver support at times that meet the families and communities needs which may include out of hours (early mornings, evenings and weekends).

You will work alongside statutory and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children, young people, and their families.

You are someone who will have strong communication, teamwork, planning and decision making skills, along with a compassionate nature to understand the necessity of best practice and thrive on helping children and families overcome the challenges presented by everyday modern life.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Respite and Outreach

Options Fife Respite and Outreach provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.

What we are looking for....

We are looking to recruit a Young People’s Worker to work 20 hours per week. You will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care. We support young people who have epilepsy, need personal care and need gastrostomy feeding. Aberlour, in conjunction with NHS, provides all staff with training.

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you may be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

About Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support Service (IFSS)(City Wide)…

Aberlour will be working in partnership with the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership and other Third Sector providers to promote the wellbeing of children and young people by offering caring and responsive support, something which is now needed more than ever as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Aberlour Glasgow Intensive Family Support will deliver the support families need, when they need it. The aim of the service is to ensure that children and young people can continue to flourish at home, at school and in their local community.

What we are looking for....

We are looking to recruit a Family Support Worker, working 37.5 hours per week on a fixed term basis until 14th September 2025. You will work directly with families to nurture relationships, build on existing strengths and interests, help children and families build skills and confidence and strengthen community connections. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works for a period of up to 12 months with families to support and enable positive change and improve outcomes. Our ambition is to help children, young people and families feel safe, confident, capable, and included, offering support when it is needed, including evenings and weekends. We believe in working alongside families, empowering them to lead positive change in their own lives.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in working alongside vulnerable families to assess strengths and needs as well as plan, deliver and evaluate interventions and strategies which enable families to thrive. You will have experience of child and adult protection issues. Experience of working within other childcare settings such as Residential Child Care will be considered.

You must share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option for children and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. Ideally you will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, together with relevant experience of working directly with children or young people and their families. Not afraid to test new ways of working, you will bring a fresh, caring, and collaborative approach which recognises strengths and responds empathically to the needs of children, young people, and their families – this will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

To succeed in this role, you will need to work flexibly within a variety of locations across Glasgow City, including family homes, schools, and community settings.

You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Residential Glenrothes

At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. As such, our service in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.

Our service is home to 3 young people, aged 14 plus. Our rota has been drafted to suit the needs of the young people. Our night shifts operate from 10pm to 8am. You will work a rolling rota consisting of 3 to 4 nights per contracted hours. More details can be discussed at interview.
