What we are looking for...
We have a requirement to increase our Relief Pool, the work of which is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis. Relief staff are needed at short notice to cover sickness, training, planned and unplanned leave as well as during busy periods such as school holidays. We are particularly looking for individuals who are available to work shifts on Saturdays between 9.45am and 1.30pm. We understand that applicants may have a number of other commitments, but the ability to respond at short notice is an essential part of being a relief member of staff.
Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. We are looking to recruit Senior Playscheme Workers to our Easter playscheme programme. Our playscheme runs 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, during the school holidays.
As a Senior Playscheme Worker you will work flexible hours to assist in developing and planning the fun-filled activities and outings, in keeping with the interests and abilities of the young people and ensuring its successful delivery by overseeing the work of the Playscheme Workers. To allow us to provide a consistent, quality service it is desirable that applicants commit to working up to 5 days per week during the Easter school holidays for a minimum of 12 hours per week. About Options Fife Lochwood Park
Aberlour Options Fife - Lochwood Park service, based in Kingseat, is a forever home for one young man who has complex needs. Our service is a safe space for not only our young man but for his family to spend meaningful time. Although there can be challenging behaviour, it is the small steps of progress that this young person makes daily that makes our work meaningful. We are looking for someone to join our small team, who is a patient and understanding person. These are key skills for this role. What we are looking for....
We are looking for a Young People’s Worker who will work 30 hours per week. You will work these hours as part of a residential rota including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Staff work on a 4-week rolling rota with 1 full weekend off, and a further Friday and Saturday off. Day staff can undertake occasional night cover and sleepovers, for which there is an additional sleepover payment of £67.
As a Young People’s Worker you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young person will have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting them to progress within their individual outcomes. Working in partnership with the Scottish Borders Council, Aberlour Sustain Borders supports families that are on the ‘edge of care’ to stay together by offering the help and tools they need to prevent a child from being taken into care. This service is tailored to suit the needs of each family that we support and is offered exactly when they need it - every day of the year.
What we are looking for...
As the Service Administrator you will providing comprehensive day to day administrative support for the service. The hours of work for this post are 20 hours per week to be worked during normal office hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. Your working hours can be discussed at interview.
You should be organised, used to working in a busy office environment and possess the skills to deliver a full administration service including reception duties, co-ordinating meetings, mail and maintaining manual and electronic storage and retrieval systems. You will also coordinate building and equipment needs as required in consultation with your manager.
An important part of the role is to provide financial administration for the service, supported by the Service Manager. You must be able to work with high levels of accuracy in recording and inputting data and in providing regular management information, in an agreed format and also responding to ad hoc requests as required.
You will be proficient in using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook etc to enable you to support the production of a range of reports. As you will often be the first point of contact within the service for a range of social care, education and other professionals you will need to have strong verbal communication skills.

About our service
Aberlour Futures is an SVQ Training and Assessment Centre with an excellent reputation, earned over 20 years, for delivering high quality vocational education and training for the Early Learning and Child Care workforce in Aberdeen City and Shire. The service also delivers Foundation Apprenticeship programmes, delivered in partnership with secondary schools in Aberdeen. The Foundation Apprenticeship qualifications are aimed at young people in S5/S6 who are considering a career working with children.
What we are looking for
Ideally you will be a qualified SVQ assessor who is interested in developing a career as a Foundation Apprenticeship Tutor. You should have a background in Early Learning and Childcare and/or Playwork and hold qualifications ideally at SCQF Level 9. If you do not possess SVQ Assessor qualifications, you should be an experienced and suitably qualified Childhood Practice Professional who is willing to undertake on the job SVQ Assessor and Foundation Apprenticeship tutor training to join the Aberlour Futures Team.
We also welcome applications from individuals with a teaching qualification who are interested in applying their skills in a vocational learning environment. Your experience in education and learner engagement will be highly valued as part of our team.
You will deliver, assess and moderate a programme of vocational learning in a number of Secondary Schools, supporting students with the Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services (Children and Young People), SCQF Level 6 and Skills for Work Early Education and Childcare National 4/5.
You should be able to provide robust assessment and good quality support to learners. You should have the ability to inspire confidence and motivate learners working in a range of early learning and childcare settings, ensuring their assessment is carried out to the required standards.
This post is advertised as 30 hours per week but consideration could also be made for term time working if this is of interest.
Please note, due to the nature of this role, annual leave is required to be taken during school holidays. A driving license and access to a car is also essential for this post.

Rotas are designed around the needs of the young people we care for and ensuring the wellness of the practitioners we employ. Late shifts are 2pm to 10pm. Early shifts are 7.30am to 2.30pm. Overnight sleep ins are part of the role, alongside an awake member of night staff. Shifts can be subject to change as and when required for the needs of the service.
Individuals need to bring a range of qualities to the role including being playful, warm and accepting and must be able to adapt their practice to appropriately meet the varying individual needs of each young person. This role can be challenging but is also immensely rewarding and provides postholders with rich opportunities to develop their own practice and understanding of the needs of children and young people with disabilities.
You must be comfortable working in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge – both yourself and other people. We support our staff to be as effective as they can be through dedicated training and supervision. In return our staff act as exceptional role models supporting the children and young people, as well as sharing knowledge and learning with colleagues.

This role can be challenging but is also immensely rewarding and provides postholders with rich opportunities to develop their own practice and understanding of the needs of children and young people with disabilities.
You must be comfortable working in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge – both yourself and other people. We support our staff to be as effective as they can be through dedicated training and supervision. In return our staff act as exceptional role models supporting the children and young people, as well as sharing knowledge and learning with colleagues.
Ideally, you will have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above, or be willing to work to this requirement as per SSSC registration.

About Options Moray
Aberlour Options Moray is a community-based service for children/young people with learning disabilities offering residential, respite short breaks, family-based care and community support matched with the individual needs of every young person. We have a strong reputation in supporting young people with high levels of complex needs, supporting them to grow, learn and maximise their potential. We feel every child has the right to flourish. Our Young People’s Workers play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people they work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person centred approach you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care to support children in their daily living and within the local community.
What we are looking for....
Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. This work is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis to provide cover during staff absence and/or particularly busy periods. Shifts are worked on a residential rota and can be 2pm - 10pm, 7.30am - 2.30pm, 10pm - 7.30am. Within those hours there can be a variety of shifts required, eg 7.30am – 11am or 4.30pm – 8.30pm.
Ideally, you will have experience of direct work with children and families and/or experience of working with children or adults with a learning disability and/or an autism spectrum condition.
