Our Respected and Safe Programme consists of close work with Senior Leadership Teams, and delivery of targeted support groups, a full universal lesson programme and work to support parents and caregivers and school staff.

Role summary:

The lead project worker will play a key role in (but not limited to):

• The ongoing delivery of our comprehensive Respected and Safe schools programme including running targeted support groups, delivering our universal lessons programme for P6’s and P7’s and running sessions for parents and teachers
• Building relationships with school staff, pupils, parents and families
• Project planning including developing lessons and materials, running events and other engagement activities
• Liaising with the Director to ensure the smooth running of the programme, and supporting the other project workers and sharing knowledge.

Purpose of the role:

The Lead Project Support Worker is the key contact for Cybersafe Scotland within our partner schools. They will be an all-rounder with a focus on supporting the Director of Cybersafe Scotland with the ongoing development and delivery of the Respected and Safe Programme in Aberdeen. This is an exciting role offering someone the opportunity to be part of a growing team and be involved with developing sector leading resources.

Key responsibilities:

• Contributing to the development of the schools’ programme and developing relevant materials for classroom and small group sessions and teaching staff support
• Delivering regular classroom-based online safety sessions to P5-7 classes within our partner schools
• Running regular small group sessions with P6&7 girls to provide targeted support with their experiences online
• Contributing to the design of parental engagement activities and delivering these online and in person
• Working on resources (blogs, videos etc) to support parents and families with their understanding of online harm

Knowledge, skills and experience:

Essential Criteria

• Experience of working with children and young people
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to children and their families and build relationships within our partner schools and with other external stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and prioritise and manage a busy workload
• Good written communication skills (for report and resource writing)
• Independent transport to schools

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people
• An awareness and understanding of key apps and games (Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, Roblox etc)
• Previous experience delivering presentations
• Previous experience of teaching, social work or youth work
• Knowledge and understanding of gender-based violence

Additional information

The post is a fixed term 18-month contract with intended extension subject to funding.

• Purpose of the role:
• The Project Support Worker will support the Lead Project Worker and the Project Manager to deliver our Respected and Safe Programme across partner schools.
