About Intercultural Youth Scotland

Intercultural Youth Scotland (IYS) is Scotland’s leading voice for Black and People of Colour (BPoC) children and young people. We exist to create safe, inspiring, and supportive spaces, driven by youth voice and lived experience, to challenge inequality and build a more inclusive Scotland.

About the Role

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Education Programme Coordinator to lead and grow our impactful anti-racism Education Programme. This role is central to our mission—delivering high-quality, youth-led workshops in schools and learning environments, tackling systemic inequalities in education, and empowering young people of colour across Scotland.

Within this role you’ll oversee programme delivery, manage a small team, build strategic relationships with schools and stakeholders, and ensure the programme continues to deliver measurable impact. If you’re committed to anti-racist education, experienced in youth-focused work, and ready to lead with empathy and purpose—we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day delivery of the Education Programme
  • Work closely with schools and young people to co-design content and ensure it meets real needs
  • Manage and support a small team of Anti-Racist Education Officers
  • Promote the programme across schools, local authorities, and education networks
  • Oversee budgets, evaluation processes, and impact reporting
  • Represent IYS in external forums, advocating for anti-racist education
  • Ensure young people can access wider IYS services through cross-programme collaboration

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • At least 2 years’ experience managing youth-focused or education-based projects
  • Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of Scottish education systems and equity in learning
  • Proven experience in planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Commitment to anti-racism, inclusion, and youth empowerment
  • Experience of working directly with young people
  • SCQF Level 9 qualification (Degree) or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Line management or supervision experience
  • Experience working in or with schools
  • Youth work or third sector background
  • Experience delivering or promoting anti-racist or equity-focused education

Why Work with Us?

  • 4-day full-time working week (32 hours)
  • £32,000 salary
  • 29 days annual leave (inclusive of public holidays)
  • Flexible, hybrid working model
  • Employee Assistance Programme
