Chair of the Board of Trustees

The Pyramid seeks an experienced and committed Chair to work with the Board and Chief Officer to steer strategy and development, whilst ensuring the long-term future of The Pyramid at Anderston.

Candidates must have previous board/governance experience, strong communication and committee skills, knowledge of the third sector, and the ability to effectively manage the Board.

It is an exciting time to join us and contribute to the community we serve. This is a significant and demanding role, which we hope will also be enjoyable and rewarding. The role is voluntary, we reimburse reasonable expenses, such as travel and childcare costs.

Trustees

The Pyramid invites people with skills and/or experience to apply to join our Board. We are particularly interested in those with prior Board/Governance experience, and/or professional experience, ideally with knowledge of the third sector in Scotland. We provide induction, training and support. The roles are voluntary and we reimburse expenses, such as travel and childcare costs.

Wellbeing and Physical Activity Co-ordinator

Food Projects Co-ordinator

The Food Projects Co-ordinator will be hands on and involved in the opening and running of our newly refurbed Kitchen and brand new Community Zero Waste Shop, Community Pantry and Fridge. Duty Manager

The successful candidate must have sound leadership experience, knowledge of the voluntary sector and/or social/community enterprises, awareness of relevant legislation across all areas of The Pyramid’s operations, excellent business and financial management skills, a proven track record of securing and managing major grants, experience of the arts, heritage or cultural industries and ideally experience of managing capital projects. They will be a confident and passionate communicator, with an ability to create positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners.

Working with the Board of Trustees, the post holder will be responsible for the direction and management of The Pyramid and leading the staff team.

We are recruiting Trustees, including a Treasurer, to strengthen our existing Board. It is an exciting time to join us as we renovate and develop our building and consolidate our position as a Community Anchor Organisation.

We are particularly keen to hear from potential Trustees with skills/experience in any of the following:

Legal experience, particularly property law, charity law and governance

Capital development

No previous Trustee experience required, we actively encourage those who may not have considered joining a Board before. In March 2019 the charity took ownership of the category B listed building that is the hub for this work and has embarked on a programme of renovation and redevelopment.

Purpose of Post

The Pyramid at Anderston wishes to appoint a Duty Manager/Janitor to assist in the management of the building, directly supporting the Facilities Manager in delivering events and activities.

The role includes managing and organising the building during day-to-day use, as well as additional one-off and regular hires and events. Work will include monitoring and maintaining stock levels, set up and break down of rooms and spaces, general building management, maintenance and cleaning and supporting the wider team to deliver projects.
