Are you looking to develop your role as a human rights defender and commit to working towards progressing human rights in Scotland?

HRCS is Scotland’s civil society network organisation to defend and promote human rights in Scotland. We have a fantastic job opportunity to join the team as the organisation’s new permanent Director. The Director is the senior executive role within HRCS and works in partnership with the HRCS Board of Trustees to ensure the ongoing strategic development of the organisation in line with its mission, vision and values.

The Director has overall responsibility for a wide range of functions including:

• Policy, lobbying and influencing

  • Management of Finance and Resources
  • Income Generation
  • Operational Delivery
  • Governance and Strategic Planning
  • Staff Management including recruitment and retention
  • Health and Safety

The role is permanent and is full time (32 hours per week on a flexible basis) with pay of £47,500 per annum. Other terms and conditions are in line with the HRCS’ standard contract.

We are Scotland’s civil society network (with over 220+ member organisation) which defends and promotes human rights in Scotland and beyond. We have two objectives:

  • To be a strong collective civil society voice on human rights.
  • Civil society has what it needs to defend and promote human rights in Scotland.

HRCS has a wonderful opportunity to join our small staff team as our new Administration, Membership and Events Assistant.

In the role you will help provide key administrative support to the organisation, facilitate membership processes and organise events and workshops for our members. You will support both the Admin and Finance Officer and Director to deliver the strategic priorities as defined by the Board of Trustees and outlined in the strategic plan.

The role is permanent and is part time (0.5 FTE/16 hours per week – with pay of £10,484 per annum). Other terms and conditions are in line with the HRCS’ standard contract.
