Dumbarton District Women's Aid provides information, support and/or safe refuge to women, children and young people fleeing domestic abuse. Domestic abuse refers to a wide range of physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse.
Are you passionate about women and children’s rights? Do you have the skills, knowledge and experience to work with women who have been subjected to domestic abuse? Do you have a firm understanding of gender-based violence and women’s inequalities? If so, this is the challenging position for you.
The women’s support worker will support women and where appropriate their accompanying family within our refuge accommodation and be part of responding to the needs of women / families seeking safe refuge accommodation. The role requires of range of experience and skills. You must be able to work independently and manage your workload. You must have a strong commitment to women’s equality and have a feminist understanding of domestic abuse. You will have strong communications skills and be able develop and maintain positive working relationships. Must hold a current driving licence and have access to own transport.
Dumbarton District Women's Aid offers support, information and temporary accommodation for women and their children who have been physically, emotionally or sexually abused by a partner or former partner. We provide refuge, information and support services for women, children and young people in the West Dunbartonshire area who are victims of domestic abuse.
