St Andrew’s First Aid is Scotland’s national first aid charity with a proud 140-year heritage and a strong public reputation.

We are seeking an experienced Communications and Engagement Lead to take ownership of our external and internal communications — strengthening visibility, reputation and engagement across Scotland.

This is a senior communications role reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and Inward Investment.

You will:

  • develop and deliver an integrated communications and engagement strategy
  • lead media relations and reputation management
  • act as a senior advisor to leadership on messaging and reputational risk
  • oversee storytelling across volunteering, training and community impact
  • lead digital communications strategy across social and online channels
  • strengthen internal communications for staff and volunteers
  • use insight, performance data and audience feedback to improve impact
  • line manage the Marketing and Content Executive

We are looking for:

  • significant communications or PR experience in a charity, public sector or values-led organisation
  • demonstrable experience leading digital channels and social strategy
  • a track record of delivering high-impact campaigns and securing positive media coverage
  • experience handling reputation or crisis communications
  • excellent writing and editorial skills
  • strong analytical capability and experience using insight to drive decisions
  • collaborative leadership and line management experience

This is an opportunity to shape the voice of a respected national charity and play a visible leadership role in how we communicate our impact across Scotland.
