Role
The National Lottery Community Fund is recruiting a Chair / Co-Chair and between six and ten members to join the Lived, Learned and Professional (LLP) Advisory Group for our Supporting Change – Carers programme in Scotland.
This is an opportunity to help shape a programme focused on improving the health of unpaid carers. We are looking for people with lived, learned and/or professional experience of unpaid care who can bring insight, constructive challenge and a strong commitment to inclusion.
Supporting Change – Carers aims to tackle health inequalities affecting unpaid carers by addressing the root causes of long-term challenges through systems change. The programme is particularly interested in work that will:
- support carers through changes in their role
- make it easier to identify and support carers
- improve support for carers who face additional barriers
- change how unpaid care is understood and valued
The LLP Advisory Group is a short-term, non-decision-making advisory group established by the National Lottery Community Fund’s Scotland Committee. It will operate from August 2026 until March 2028 and will help ensure that lived, learned, and professional perspectives are reflected in programme learning, priorities and governance discussions.
Participation is flexible and designed to fit around caring responsibilities and other commitments. Most engagement will take place through a private Microsoft Teams space and occasional online meetings.
The Chair / Co-Chair will have additional responsibilities, including helping to convene discussions, shaping agendas with staff, and drawing together key insights from the group.
You do not need previous board, committee or chairing experience. We welcome applications from people with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, especially those underrepresented in formal governance spaces.
Location: Based in Scotland
Working from: Remote, with participation through Microsoft Teams and occasional online meetings
Remuneration: While the role is an unpaid and voluntary position, advisory group members will be remunerated in line with The National Lottery Community Fund’s Stakeholder Compensation Policy, with a higher rate for the Chair / Co-Chair to reflect the additional responsibilities of the role. Support is also available to reduce barriers to participation, including replacement care costs, reasonable adjustments, accessible materials and flexible engagement options.

The Community Development Officer will play a key role in strengthening community engagement, developing activities and services, building partnerships and helping ensure that local people influence the organisation's work and future direction.

Site Development & Facilities Lead

The Site Development & Facilities Lead will play a key role in overseeing the development, improvement and long-term management of WATIF’s buildings and facilities. The postholder will take responsibility for progressing projects that bring buildings and spaces into active community use, managing work from planning through to completion and ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose.
Working closely with staff, contractors, trustees and external partners, the postholder will help shape the future development of WATIF’s sites and support the organisation’s wider vision for community benefit.
You will take a leading role in transforming spaces into valuable community assets, helping turn ideas and plans into practical, usable facilities that support local people and future opportunities. The role combines strategic planning with practical delivery
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, project management and seeing projects move from concept to reality.

Peer Education Support Worker

Murray’s Initiative (formerly known as Glasgow Council on Alcohol) is an independent Scottish charity that works to reduce alcohol and drug-related harm at both individual and community levels. Established in 1965, Murray’s Initiative adopts a long-term, trauma-informed and asset-based approach to changing the culture around substance use. Its services are built on a person-centred, harm-reduction model, supporting people whether their goal is to reduce consumption or achieve abstinence.
Murray’s Initiative offers free, confidential counselling services for people concerned about their own or someone else's drinking. Murray’s Initiative delivers a range of interventions including groupwork and employability support as well as a number of holistic and inclusive services, such as a women’s service for survivors of gender-based violence, young persons peer education service, LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing support and tailored wellbeing programmes.
Murray’s Initiative is also a recognised provider of professional development, offering a comprehensive training portfolio including education aimed at increasing awareness of alcohol use and promoting healthier lifestyles, COSCA Counselling Skills and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Murray’s Initiative deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire, helping people make meaningful, positive change in their lives.

About the Role:
The role of Peer Education Support Worker will support our peer-led Harm Reduction Service (U-Turn), benefiting young people aged 12 – 25 years old. This service is funded by Young Start from The National Lottery.
The main focus of this service is to provide Peer Education, with the added provision of one to one support for young Peer Educators. The service adopts an active citizenship approach when working with young people. There will be an expectation that the Peer Educators will work towards achieving qualifications through training and as a result of the work they undertake.
The service specifically targets some of the most vulnerable young people in areas where Murray’s Initiative currently delivers services, aiming to reduce the harm caused by alcohol and other drugs within their communities.
The Peer Educators will be supported to deliver peer-led inputs to other Young People on issued-based topics, with a focus to incorporate a harm reduction approach as well as a separate element of addressing stigma/language around drug and alcohol use.
The Peer Education Support Worker will report to the Service Manager – Education & Development.
This post requires a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership for both Children and Adults -successful applicants will be required to join the PVG Scheme.
The One World Shop was established over 40 years ago and has played a lead role in the Fair Trade movement in Scotland, including helping Edinburgh and Glasgow become Fairtrade cities and Scotland to become a Fair Trade Nation.
As well as running a thriving city centre shop, we have an online shop and we support schools, faith groups and local businesses to learn about and sell fair trade products. We currently employ 7 paid staff and over 20 volunteers. Our aim is to reduce poverty in deprived areas of the world through trading fairly and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and promoting low-carbon living.
We are seeking to appoint several new voluntary Management Committee members; we are particularly looking at people with skills and experience in any of the following:
- Human Resources
- Property, leases, surveying
- Retail sales and management
- Business management
- Finance, funding, ethical investment
Board meetings are held every two months by Zoom or occasionally in the shop.
