Health in Mind offers a range of counselling services. We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Counsellor who is fluent in British Sign Language (BSL) to join our team in a self-employed capacity. You will provide face-to-face and online one-to-one counselling individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges in our Lothian Deaf Counselling service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver confidential counselling sessions tailored to client needs
• Maintain accurate and timely client records
• Work collaboratively and have good communication with the Counselling Team Leader and Administrator
• Uphold ethical and professional standards in line with BACP guidelines

Requirements:

• Recognised counselling qualification (Diploma or Masters Level)
• Registration with COSCA, NCPS, BACP, UKCP, HCPC or other relevant professional body
• Experience working with diverse client groups, including people who have experiences of trauma
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The overall aim of this post is to work alongside the incumbent Prevention Worker to deliver interventions to young people around healthy sexual relationships using the Rape Crisis Scotland sexual violence prevention pack (SVPP) and No More! (accessible SVP Pack), and to develop local strategic approaches to sexual violence prevention.

Main outcomes for this post are as follows:

• National and local strategic approaches to sexual violence prevention are more consistent and more effective.
• Strategic partnerships between rape crisis centres and local agencies are strengthened, promoting shared approaches to sexual violence and support for direction intervention by centres.
• Young people have increased knowledge and more positive attitudes towards sexual relationships, and less tolerance of violence.
• Young people have a greater role in shaping interventions in relation to sexual relationships.

We are recruiting for a Communications Manager to manage and deliver the Commission’s communications and media relations activity.

The post has a remit to manage the Commission’s communication programme, providing advice to the Executive Leadership Team and senior management on key issues and developing strategies that support its role in influencing policy and opinion in the mental health, learning disability, dementia and related fields, and engendering a positive reputation for the Commission amongst its key external stakeholders.

The post is the expert on communications for the Commission, giving input at a strategic level but also being involved in the day-to-day communications work.

The post holder must have a degree in a relevant discipline, such as communications, media or journalism, and significant and current experience (usually 5 years or equivalent) of working in a communications role/field. Applicants must be able to demonstrate credibility with executive/senior management teams, experience of managing media relations, developing communication plans and strategies, and building stakeholder relations.

Role

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Head of Campaigns & Media to lead the development of a new team within our Policy & Influencing Directorate.

This exciting role has been created to develop a new campaigns function at the Mental Health Foundation, incorporating our existing media team and working closely with policy, research and lived experience colleagues across the UK, with the aim of driving support for policy change.

What does the role involve?

• Developing a campaigns strategy for MHF and deliver its execution.
• Manage the campaigns and media team, commission engaging content, oversee campaign budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to create a better policy environment for good mental health.
• Contribute to the leadership of the Mental Health Foundation and its Policy and Influencing Directorate.

What skills, knowledge and experience are we looking for?

• Experience of developing and implementing campaign strategies to support policy change in the charity sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of communication disciplines (e.g. digital marketing, media relations, content creation) and how they integrate to achieve campaign objectives.
• Understanding of mental health policy, prevention and public health.
