We’re looking for passionate new trustees to help shape the future of Independent Arts Projects (IAP). If you care about creativity, community and positive change, we’d love to hear from you!

Commitment: Around five days a year for three years.

Voluntary role (reasonable expenses covered).

The One World Shop was established over 40 years ago and has played a lead role in the Fair Trade movement in Scotland, including helping Edinburgh and Glasgow become Fairtrade cities and Scotland to become a Fair Trade Nation.

As well as running a thriving city centre shop, we have an online shop and we support schools, faith groups and local businesses to learn about and sell fair trade products. We currently employ 7 paid staff and over 20 volunteers. Our aim is to reduce poverty in deprived areas of the world through trading fairly and we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and promoting low-carbon living.

We are seeking to appoint several new voluntary Management Committee members; we are particularly looking at people with skills and experience in any of the following:

• Human Resources
• Property, leases, surveying
• Retail sales and management
• Business management
• Finance, funding, ethical investment

Board meetings are held every two months by Zoom or occasionally in the shop.

Apex Scotland is a leading organisation in the Scottish justice and wider charity sector dedicated to reducing reoffending, promoting social inclusion, and supporting people to build bright futures. We work with individuals facing significant barriers to employment and community integration, helping them to make positive choices and achieve lasting change.

We’ve been going through a period of exciting change and with the arrival of our new CEO, Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, we are now seeking new Trustees to join our Board and help guide Apex Scotland through the next stage of our development.

As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategic direction, ensuring good governance, and supporting our mission to create safer communities across Scotland.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with skills and experience in:

• Finance and Fundraising
• Criminal justice, social care, or community services
• Marketing, Policy and Advocacy
• Commercial/Private sectors
• Lived experience of the issues Apex Scotland addresses.

Previous Board experience is not essential as training and support will be offered – what matters most is your commitment to our values, your willingness to contribute your expertise, and your passion for making a real difference.

Hope for Rural People (HfRP) is a small, volunteer-led charitable organization committed to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities in rural areas of Scotland and Bangladesh. Our work focuses on food aid, education, refugee support, sustainable agriculture, and women’s empowerment.

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Trustees to join our Board and help shape the future of HfRP. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals who want to make a real difference by contributing their time, expertise, and strategic insight to a growing organization.

We particularly welcome applicants with experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, finance, governance, or community development.

At present, this is a voluntary position, as the organization is in its early development stage. Trustees may receive remuneration or honorarium in the future as HfRP grows and secures funding.
