Scottish Environment LINK is the forum for Scotland’s voluntary environment community, with over 40 member bodies representing a broad spectrum of environmental interests with the common goal of contributing to a more environmentally sustainable society. We are a Scottish Charity and a Scottish Company Limited by guarantee core funded by Membership Subscriptions and by grants from Charitable Trusts , NatureScot and Scottish Government.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Operations, the role is to be responsible for managing the day to day financial administration of the organisation.

The Finance Officer provides effective support for the organisation on all aspects of finance ensuring that the function always runs smoothly. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the integrity of all financial records and accounting to include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, expenses, cash, bank, journals, accruals/prepayments leading to financial reports.

They will also be responsible for delivering key aspects of back-office operations, which include managing the Perth office and coordinating the interface with IT support firm

Who would suit this role?

The Finance Officer position is a role best suited to an individual who is looking for a part – time fixed-term opportunity. The ideal candidate will have excellent financial, organisational and IT skills and be able to demonstrate initiative and a can-do approach to all aspects of the role. To be successful in this position, you must thrive on challenges and enjoy working in a busy, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate should be willing to carry out daily processing with a problem-solving mindset. They will be someone who continues to embed and improve systems and processes as well as adhering to organisational procedures.

The preferred candidate would be someone who has worked in an accounting focused role ideally with a non-for-profit background but candidates looking to move into this sector are also welcome to apply.

This is an integral role in the organisation and will be highly visible which requires an individual who is organised, has excellent attention to detail, a strong technical background and a drive for success.

• Person specification: Highly numerate with experience in designing and managing integrated, multi-sheet financial workbooks

• Experienced in using accounting software

• Ability to plan and manage workload to meet agreed targets, and to meet deadlines

• Very good, interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to maintain good working relationships in a team and with members

• Strong understanding of contemporary IT environment, options and applications.

• Computer literate with very good experience of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams),

• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing

Terms and conditions

This is a part-time contract, subject to a probationary period of 8 weeks. Salary is £25,000 - £26,500, pro rata per annum, depending on skills and experience. LINK makes an employer contribution to employee personal pensions of up to a maximum of 12% of basic salary, complementing employee contributions. The pro rata leave quota is based on 25 days' annual leave and 10 public holidays per annum. The appointee may work the hours over shorter workdays Monday to Friday, or over, less longer work. On occasion it may be necessary to work evenings or parts of weekends, for which time off in lieu will be granted. All approved expenses will be reimbursed.

Trustee required to drive Strategic Marketing & Profile Raising for Amisfield Preservation Trust

About Us- Based just outside Haddington in East Lothian, Amisfield Preservation Trust is dedicated to preserving and enhancing an eight-acre historic walled garden that offers a serene retreat and wellbeing resource to locals, volunteers and visitors alike.

Circular Communities Scotland is a network membership organisation, dedicated to supporting the establishment of a thriving circular economy in Scotland. It supports and represents repair, reuse and recycling charities and social enterprises across the country. Circular Communities Scotland members prevent valuable products and materials from entering landfill, create local jobs, economic opportunities, and help promote and create social and environmental justice in their communities.

The purpose of the Local Authority Partnership Development Officer role is to identify and build new partnerships between Circular Communities Scotland members and Scottish Local Authorities to deliver greater levels of circular economy activity in Scotland.

More specifically the Partnership Development Officer will:

- Build relationships with the Local Authorities in Scotland and relevant intermediaries (such as COSLA, WMON, LARAC and RMAS)

- Identify potential new partnerships between Circular Communities Scotland members and Local Authorities and signpost connections to the alternative parties.

- Provide pro-active development support to get potential projects up and running.

- Input into key Local Authority-based policy areas.

- Produce an annual report spotlighting best practice Local Authority-third sector partnerships in Scotland, highlighting key opportunities, and identifying key barriers to growing reuse via Local Authority partnerships.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Build relationships (evidenced by a strong network of Local Authority contacts and intermediary bodies which will be key for creating successful partnerships).

2. Identify new partnerships (evidenced by a growing inventory of opportunities for future reuse projects).

3. Development support (evidenced by a range of successful pilots and new projects to deliver greater levels of circular economy activity with more reuse, sharing and repair behaviours).

4. Policy input (evidenced by a strong understanding of Local Authority policy topics and successfully providing input into key Local Authority-based policy areas).

5. Reporting (evidenced by a strong report which provides a clearly documented understanding of the state of the sector and optimal areas to focus on for future years).

At The Brock, we are more than just a garden centre – we’re a thriving community rooted in purpose. Our mission is to provide a welcoming, supportive space for people with chronic mental health conditions, using nature, routine, and meaning full activities as tools for stabilization, recovery and empowerment. We are based in a boutique garden centre in Broxburn, which includes the community Mind Garden, wood workshop and craft room, where we offer oppertunities in horticulture, woodwork, garden maintenance, a variety of crafts, landscaping projects and outings.

We have secured 3-year funding to develop our second base – Boarwood in Bathgate – and we’re excited to be recruiting for two key roles that will help shape the future of this growing project.

We’re looking for a dynamic pro-active person who’s excited to play a hands-on role in both launching Boarwood and supporting the development of our wider organisation. As Assistant Manager, you’ll oversee the setup and operations at Boarwood whilst also contributing to the running and strategic growth of the full organisation.

Your role will include:

- Overseeing and leading the development of Boarwood

- Assisting with organizational coordination, systems and strategy

- Supporting team members and volunteers across both sites as needed

- Helping embed sustainable, inclusive business practices
