The ALLIANCE is excited to be recruiting an Energy Efficiency Outreach Worker!

The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering our Energy and Efficiency outreach project to Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire and will provide a specialist service to people who often experience complex social circumstances, using agreed, person-centred principles for monitoring, auditing and evaluating programme delivery

The successful candidate for this role should have:

• Experience at delivering advice to a wide range of citizens and be familiar with benefit entitlements as well as showing empathy and understanding of the issues faced by our citizens.
• Knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
• Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the provision of advice to low-income households in energy efficiency or related fields.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision.
• The ability to work with a wide range of people and proven experience of working with vulnerable householders, low income and/or other disadvantaged groups, including a strong understanding of the challenges faced by people living in areas of deprivation in relation to living well.
• Tact and diplomacy when liaising with a wide range of organisations.
• A solution-focused approach.

• Proven and highly effective interpersonal and communication skills in working with people on a 1:1 basis and with organisations.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and motivational skills in order to engage people and to enable them to take up a wide range of community services and activities.

Terms and conditions

This post is a fixed-term contract. This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, based in Glasgow. The post holder will be required to adopt a flexible approach to working hours as travel throughout Scotland and occasional additional hours may be required. However, this will be reimbursed through the organisation’s Time off in Lieu scheme.

JOB CONTEXT: Crossbasket House provides accommodation and support for families with seriously ill children receiving care in the Royal Hospital for Children Glasgow and other hospitals in the west of Scotland. Families stay free of charge in the 30 bedroomed House and there is no time limit on the accommodation – once a family is given a room it is theirs until their child is discharged from hospital. For families with a sick child, the House is a fantastic haven at a stressful time when their child’s stay in hospital requires them to be close by while they are away from home.

JOB PURPOSE: To be a main point of contact in the House, providing a friendly, professional and efficient service to families, visitors and all stakeholders. To be a competent person to be the sole member of staff on occasions during your shift along with the following primary responsibilities. To support the range of programmes developed and delivered within the House, to support future growth initiatives.

Work Pattern: Shift work and On-Call required

• Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 3:00pm or 1:00pm – 9:00pm
• Weekends (Saturday & Sunday): 9:00am – 6:00pm

Note: Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the role.

The Community Fundraiser will provide essential support to the Fundraising Team. This will involve assisting with donor stewardship, operational tasks and administrative duties. You will act as a key member of the fundraising team, whilst ensuring the fundraising database is accurately maintained.
