Role
The Young Women’s Movement is Scotland's national organisation for young women and girls' leadership and rights: working collectively, leading meaningful change and creating a more equal society. Young women are at the heart of everything we do. Our movement is informed, shaped and led by and for young women and for over 100 years, we have been a collective force that has and will continue to change things for the better for all young women across Scotland.
Our Policy and Participation Coordinator will play a key role in the delivery of an exciting two-year initiative aimed at increasing young women’s political literacy, engagement in democratic processes, and participation in national influencing efforts. This will include coordinating project activities and supporting our broader influencing and policy agenda, ensuring young women are at the heart of all our work.

2024 marked 100 years of The Young Women’s Movement, formally known as YWCA Scotland. To mark this momentous event, we embarked on a new project, funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, to explore young women’s heritage and stories within the history of our movement.
Our Heritage Research Coordinator will continue to develop and lead our 100-year heritage project ‘Young Women Remember’ which has been ongoing for the past 12 months. This will include coordinating project activities, supporting young women volunteers to co-design the project, conduct oral history research and create the final digital archive.

Sikh Sanjog, the charity committed to improving lives of ethnic minority women in Scotland, is seeking a Director of Operations. You will be passionate about leading Sikh Sanjog into a new phase and seamlessly taking over the reins from our founder Trishna Singh OBE, who has tirelessly led the organisation since its inception 35 years ago.
The successful candidate will lead and direct all our community supportive services ensuring that day-to-day management across the organisation is effectively delivered; that all service activities are effectively integrated and delivered in line with the Board of Trustees’ strategy, operational plans and values of Sikh Sanjog.
Essential knowledge and experience
- Degree or equivalent in community development, health or social care
- Significant experience of working at management level in the community development and social care field
- Knowledge and understanding of all current health and social care legislation
- Knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework and compliance requirements in human rights, equalities, and care/protection of children and young people
- Experience of managing the delivery of support to people with complex needs, and direct engagement with people and families to inform how support is delivered
- In-depth understanding of issues facing diverse minority ethnic communities living in the UK, with reference to Scotland and knowledge of Sikh culture and communities
- Credibility with local and national government agencies supporting social services within the third sector
- Track record of effective people management skills
- Skilled in operational management including management of key performance metrics and working with financial reports
- Experience of developing the business case for capital spend and fundraising on behalf of the organisation
Desirable personal qualities
- Track record of engaging, motivating and leading staff and colleagues to deliver organisational goals
- Ability to grow team members through motivational personal development programmes, acting as a role mode
- Ability to question, challenge and encourage different and creative ways of thinking, and leading continuous improvement through review of processes and procedures
- Great communicator: confident addressing a range of audiences and in the delivery of well-written documentation
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to this role
- Self- awareness; ability to assess own impact on others at all levels of the organisation including the Board of Trustees
- Strong networking skills with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, local government and funding bodies important for credibility and reputation as the face and ambassador of Sikh Sanjog in the future

Women’s Support and Advocacy Worker with MARAC

Fife Women’s Aid are looking for a full-time member of staff to join our existing MARAC team, working with women experiencing domestic abuse who are at high levels of risk.
If you want to help make a difference in the lives of women, children and young people with experience of domestic abuse, have direct experience of providing one to one person-centred support, an understanding of the causes and impacts of domestic abuse along with good interpersonal skills then you may be the person we are looking for. Applicants will have at least 2 years’ experience of working in a support or advocacy role. The MARAC team is a small supportive team with a wealth of experience to share with new workers. Training will also be provided for the successful candidates.
The successful applicant(s) will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in social care or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

We are seeking to recruit a suitably experienced, qualified and skilled woman to fulfil the role of Refuge Support Worker
The Refuge Support Worker will provide a high quality and specialist support service to women living in Refuge working to ensure their safety and recovery.
