Vox Liminis is a pioneering arts and community organisation working within the criminal justice sector. Through our creative work we seek to generate fresh conversations and insights that challenge society’s responses to crime, harm and conflict. We believe the arts has a vital role to play in building connections, trust and belonging – restoring rather than furthering divisions. We have an excellent track record in delivering ambitious, socially engaged arts practice and we are excited about our future plans.
The role of Artistic Director is a critical new leadership role within the organisation. It offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to shape the organisation’s vision, to lead the development of our ground-breaking, creative practice, and to deepen the impact of our work across Scotland and beyond. An inspirational leader, the Artistic Director will have the experience, energy and ambition to confidently lead foward our plans for the future, working collaboratively with staff, Board, our community and participants, and a range of key stakeholders and partners.
Vox Liminis is in receipt of Creative Scotland Multi-Year Funding for 2025-2028 which, alongside other funding, secures a strategic and creative platform for our work.

About the Role
The International Association for Community Development (IACD) is seeking a passionate, experienced, and visionary leader to join us as Strategic Director. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver on IACD’s 2024–2029 Strategic Plan, ensuring our values and voice are represented on the global stage.
As Strategic Director, you will be responsible for delivering the organisation’s mission, managing operations, guiding international advocacy efforts, and fostering member engagement across diverse communities worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and ongoing evaluation of IACD’s strategic goals and global initiatives.
- Champion community development values and amplify practitioner voices—especially those from minority and marginalised groups.
- Strengthen IACD’s role in global policy arenas, including the UN and other multilateral forums.
- Develop sustainable funding strategies and manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Represent the organisation publicly and support IACD’s international network of members and partners through events, forums, and knowledge exchange.
- Provide strategic support to the Board of Trustees and ensure strong organisational governance.
About You
The successful candidate will be a seasoned community development professional with:
- A third-level qualification in community development/community work.
- Significant practical experience in community development and at national policy level.
- Proven leadership experience in strategy, international engagement, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report writing skills.
- Experience working with funders and delivering large-scale programmes.
- The ability to work flexibly across time zones and travel nationally and internationally when required.
- Strong commitment to IACD’s values of inclusion, participation, and global solidarity.

What is The Role
As a member of the Corporate Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Director of Service Delivery, your primary role is to oversee national services and programmes across Scotland and provide strategic support to service delivery. However, you will also work closely with Heads of Service supporting localities, working together to provide a holistic, integrated support to our service users and supporting all Service Delivery staff and volunteers as part of #OneVSS team approach. You will be responsible for ensuring, within your areas of responsibility, that VSS’s strategic objectives are being implemented and will have a key role in developing future strategies and business planning to ensure that the needs of victims and witnesses are being met.
What You’ll Need to be Successful
We are looking for an experienced and transformational leader. Someone who will relish the opportunity to shape the delivery of the VSS vision and strategic priorities. You will be working alongside colleagues and partner agencies to deliver for victims and witnesses and have a relevant post-graduate professional qualification and/or experience in relation to research and designing service pathways. An innovative thinker with strong communication skills and experience of partnership working. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development is essential.

Salary band: £47,266 - £62,420. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

Men Matter Scotland is a place of connection, community and care. Every day, over 100 men come through our doors looking for support with their mental health, tackling isolation, and finding a sense of purpose.

As Director, you’ll work closely with the Chair and Board to lead all aspects of our operations and development.

About you
We are looking for someone with senior leadership experience in the third sector, public sector or a similar environment.
You’ll bring:
- Experience of managing teams, finances and operations

- Knowledge of funding and income generation, especially local authority and trust funding
- The ability to build strong relationships, influence others and speak up for what matters.
- You’ll need to be someone who is comfortable managing complexity and juggling priorities, while always keeping people at the centre of your work.
