Role

Connecting Carers is a vibrant and growing charity committed to supporting unpaid Carers across Highland. Our mission is to support unpaid Carers in Highland throughout their caring journey. You can make a difference and contribute to this work.

Connecting Carers is seeking new Board Trustees. Board Trustees play a critical role in the future development and governance of the service. Working to the organisation’s values of respect, compassion, inclusion, promoting choice and opportunity we are seeking a diverse range of Trustees with a commitment to the work we do across Highland.

As a Board Member, you'll play a central role in guiding the strategic direction of Connecting Carers. You’ll be part of a dedicated team overseeing our mission to improve the lives of unpaid adult and young Carers across Highland — ensuring our services remain relevant, responsive, and resilient in a changing world.

Board members are not just governance figures — they are champions, advocates, and ambassadors. Whether you're an experienced Trustee or considering your first board role, this is a chance to make a genuine and lasting difference

Impartiality, equality, fairness, passion, and commitment are essential qualities for our Board Trustees. We are particularly interested in applicants from less represented groups and those with knowledge and experience of the Third Sector, finance, funding, governance, health and social care, communications, business development, social enterprise, lived experience of being an unpaid Carer and strategy.

Board meetings can be attended in person which are usually in Inverness and/or remotely via Microsoft Teams/Zoom.

Hours: Variable according to the needs of the service. On average, one 2 -3 hour meeting every quarter (3 months).
