About S.M.I.L.E. Counselling

Established in 2015, S.M.I.L.E. Counselling offers a low cost, bespoke counselling service to children and young people across West Lothian aged between 11 and 24 (26 with experience of care system). We are the largest provider of school counselling in West Lothian and continue to develop S.M.I.L.E. Training providing personalised mental health training.

Who we’re looking for

We are recruiting for a counsellor with at least one year experience counselling children and young people who have been diagnosed with, or believed to have, a neurodiverse condition to join the team. This role will be part time, for 2.5 days per week.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified talking therapist registered with an appropriate governing body such as COSCA, BACP or equivalent.

You will have the ability to use different therapeutic approaches to adapt to the needs of the client. You will also have experience in delivering psychoeducational groups and be willing to develop into a safeguarding lead.

The role is initially funded until 31 August 2026.
