Who are we?

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was founded in 2017 by former Scotland rugby player, Doddie Weir, following his motor neuron disease (MND) diagnosis. Doddie was frustrated at the lack of treatments available for this terminal disease, and the consequent lack of hope for those diagnosed. While Doddie sadly died in 2022, his vision of a World Free of MND lives on through the Foundation and we won’t stop until this has been achieved.

Since our inception, we have committed £11 million to MND research, as well as a further £2 million in grants to support people living with MND. We have fostered collaboration between leading MND researchers and been an integral part of game-changing campaigns to raise funds and awareness for the disease. In 2023, we were also awarded JustGiving’s UK Charity of the Year award.

It is an exciting time at My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, and we hope you’d love to be part of it.
