We currently have a vacancy for an SDS Link Practitioner within our brokerage service.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy SDS brokerage team as an SDS Link Practitioner. Following confirmation of funding from The Scottish Government, Support in the Right Direction initiative we are looking forward to further developing our service to deliver our agreed self-directed support outcomes.

Our service will focus on:

• Providing self-directed support information and advice through a variety of approaches.
• Providing accessible information around SDS rights and legislation.
• Providing practical and informed support around SDS outcome planning, at the earliest opportunity.
• Providing informal advocacy.
• Supporting people to get the most out of their care.
• Championing SDS within the local community and empowering individuals to make informed decisions around their care needs.
• Providing practical support around becoming an employer to personal assistants.

The Clannalba service is recruiting a Senior Autism Practitioners to join their fun and friendly team. Situated in the small village of Lamington, near Biggar, this residence is set in the beautiful countryside with farmland all around. Prior leadership experience is required for this role.

Using your outstanding communication skills, you’ll collaborate with agencies, multi-disciplinary teams, and families to implement support plans to help individuals to succeed in their day-to-day lives. Actively involving yourself in the recruitment process, you’ll always be on the lookout for talented individuals who could make the team even stronger.

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake shift work, including weekends, evenings and required for on-call, so flexibility towards working hours is key.

Columcille is a creative day support service which offers a wide range of activities for adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Activities include gardening, cooking, pottery, arts and crafts, drama, music, dancing, and woodwork. Our approach values the uniqueness and gifts of each person and supports people to develop their creative skills and do meaningful work and activities in a friendly community setting. Columcille is based on the principles of social therapy which originate in the thinking of Rudolf Steiner.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Support Worker to provide person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities to participate in creative workshops and activities.

The role will provide support to service users to learn new skills, develop socially, and achieve positive outcomes. You will provide 1-1 support to individuals within the centre and the wider community, including supporting individuals with complex needs, for example epilepsy, autism, mobility difficulties, as well as personal care. It is also anticipated that the role holder will be one of a small team of staff who support our dance group one afternoon.

Experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities is essential.
