GrowBiz Scotland is a unique rural enterprise support organisation - for anyone thinking of becoming self-employed, or starting/growing a small business or social enterprise.
We are looking for an inspirational and experienced Co-CEO to share the current CEO’s workload. This is a diverse and demanding leadership role within a complex organisation focused on building sustainable and resilient enterprises and communities, both geographically and in key sectors across rural Scotland. The successful candidate will have significant strategic development experience, particularly in the business support and local economic development arenas.
With a base in Perth & Kinross, but working across Scotland, GrowBiz’s community-based approach creates self-sustaining networks and is effective in raising awareness of enterprise and business potential among under-represented groups. As a leader in innovative rural enterprise support GrowBiz actively advocates for change and our vision is to promote and support the development of a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive entrepreneurial rural economy.
In addition to core services such as 1-1 support, learning sessions, mentoring and networking, GrowBiz manages a number of innovative projects and programmes, including Perthshire Artisans, Rural Enterprise Directory Scotland (REDS), Ruractive (European-wide project), SEED (support for young entrepreneurs), WRAP (programme to support mental health resilience), and a social enterprise network in Perth & Kinross. It has a cross-cutting commitment to net zero and supporting rural businesses to adapt to climate change. GrowBiz works with a wide range of funding and strategic partners, including Perth & Kinross Council, Cairngorms National Park Authority, SRUC, James Hutton Institute and the Scottish Government Rural Economy team.
GrowBiz services are delivered by a team of self-employed contractors with individual areas of experience and expertise. As professionals they are responsible for managing their own working patterns and communication with other contractors and the senior management team.
