Role

The newly established Patna Action Group Ltd (PAG), is looking to appoint a self employed part time Community Coordinator for Patna. You will be expected to work from a community venue in Patna for some of the week so that the post is visible in the community.

The focus of the contract is developing activities that bring people in Patna together, increasing their confidence and capacity and beginning to improve the community’s effectiveness in addressing challenges and aspirations.

The right person will have a strong commitment to social change and improving Patna. They will have initiative, be a clear and thoughtful communicator and be able to engage confidently and sensitively with people. They’ll be comfortable navigating different views and opinions and pragmatic in finding solutions.

This role has come about because the communities of Dalmellington, New Cumnock, Patna and Carsphairn have co-designed plans for distributing incoming funding linked to the South Kyle Wind Farm which is just outside Dalmellington. This collaborative approach means this work has funding assured for an initial four year term. The contract is for 12 months initially subject to a three-month successful induction period. Funding in place for 4 years (with continuation possible) and consideration of position converting to employed status during this period.
