What the role is
Our Policy and Research Officer will play a key role in supporting our work on policy, advocacy and political engagement. This will include policy monitoring, analysis, research, data gathering, and external engagement activity. In particular, the role will help us develop and review position statements, prepare consultation responses, engage with policy networks and support political engagement and general advocacy.
What you’ll need to have
This is a varied and exciting role that works directly with our Executive Team. We are looking for an individual who has a keen interest in and understanding of Scottish Government, UK and international climate change, environmental and sustainable development policies, strategies and plans. You will have a background in policy development, advocacy and/or research. You will also be interested in political engagement and public affairs.
You will have strong research and analysis skills as well as experience in producing high quality briefing papers, position statements and written reports. You will also have excellent engagement and communications skills both verbally and in written form.
An interest in and understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals would be desirable as is an interest and understanding of organisational net zero projects and ISO14001.
