Role

The Church seeks an individual with drive and enthusiasm to take up a newly configured and innovative post. As a consequence of the outsourcing of some administration of the Church’s defined benefit Pension Scheme and maintenance of housing for retired clergy, the post of Pensions and Retirement Officer has been created. The post holder will act as secretary to the Pension Fund Trustees, handle a range of administrative tasks for the Pension Fund, manage the Church’s portfolio of retirement housing and oversee the provision of services by a range of external service providers. The post also includes acting as secretary to the Church’s Investment Committee and Ethical Investment Advisory Group.

The post holder will demonstrate a high level of administrative skills, an ability to work on their own initiative and have a general understanding of issues involved in pensions administration and property oversight.

You will be part of a national team based at the General Synod Office in Edinburgh reporting to the Chair of the Pension Fund Trustees for pensions matters, and the Secretary General and Treasurer for other areas of activity.
