Viewpark Conservation Group is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation based in Viewpark, North Lanarkshire. We are led by our Board of Trustees who are mainly local people. Building on the success of the Viewpark Community Buy-out of the Historical Douglas Support Estate comprising 170 acres of mixed woodland and grassland, we are pleased to be recruiting for the exciting role of Estate Ranger. VCG are seeking an enthusiastic individual to be responsible for security and maintenance of ‘Our Glen’. They will play a key role in the development of the glen, working with the Trustees and volunteers to devise and co-ordinate outdoor activities and projects. This is a full-time position, funded by The National Lottery through The National Lottery Community Fund for 36 months with a salary of £26,500.00. This role is open to applicants with the experience and skills:

• An understanding of countryside management with particular emphasis in conservation and recreation

• Experience of working in a countryside management/conservation role

• Experience of working with stakeholders and partner organisations from the public, private and/or voluntary sectors

• Ability to manage time and resources to deliver defined projects and activities

• Team-worker with ability to work with minimal supervision

• Manage multiple projects and delivery, working with colleagues and partners as appropriate

Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity working locally to bring people together, take positive action on the climate emergency and support people experiencing fuel poverty and food insecurity.

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager (Maternity Cover) to play a key role in leading and supporting our operational teams.

Our Board is vital in supporting ELGT to realise its vision of providing quality greenspaces to people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to improve their health and wellbeing. We are seeking a skilled, committed and engaged person who wants to act as a catalyst for change and support ELGT through being Chair of our Board.

Background

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust was established because of serious concerns about the ‘plight of the bumblebee’. Over the past century, UK bumblebee populations have declined and two species have become nationally extinct. The Trust is a science-based charity, concerned with halting and reversing the decline in bumblebees.

The Trust’s vision is to increase the number and distribution of bumblebees. To achieve this, the Trust has an agreed strategy working toward four main aims:

1. Enhance the understanding of bumblebee ecology and conservation.

2. Increase the quality and quantity of bumblebee habitat.

3. Inspire and enable a diverse range of people to take action for bumblebees.

4. Be an effective and sustainable organisation.

This is a voluntary position but offers an exciting opportunity to assist a dynamic charity to develop its conservation and science work in the UK.
