Let us tell you about who we are, what we’re looking and for what we can offer.
About Us
FEL is changing our world for the better, project by project. We show people how to make everyday changes that help
them, their communities, and the planet thrive. Our approach is grounded, practical, and built on local
knowledge. We work collaboratively with communities and partners to create positive social and environmental
impact.
Our aim is to make the environment meaningful by making it personal — helping people believe in the power of our
projects and share in their success. At FEL Scotland, we help people, their communities, and the planet thrive.
We believe powerful change is possible—and each of us has a role in making it happen. From bikes to local food
to reuse to renewable energy, our projects show how everyday action adds up to big impacts.

About the Role
We have an exciting new project starting this October – Powering Community Sport. The project aims to support
community sports clubs across Forth Valley to develop community-owned renewable energy projects that reduce
energy costs and generate long-term community benefit. Community sports clubs manage important local assets,
including clubhouses, pavilions, changing facilities and floodlighting. Many face rising energy costs, ageing
infrastructure and limited capacity to explore renewable energy opportunities, despite often having suitable
sites for solar and battery storage. The project responds to clear demand from clubs and partners across the
region.
As our Project Officer, you will lead engagement with sports clubs across Forth Valley and the Loch Lomond &
Trossachs National Park area, helping them participate in a dedicated sports club energy and sustainability
programme linked to FEL's wider community energy work.
You will identify and recruit sports clubs into the programme, build strong relationships with club representatives,
and provide ongoing support to help clubs remain engaged and achieve positive outcomes. You will act as the main
day-to-day contact for participating clubs, helping them navigate opportunities to reduce energy costs, improve
energy efficiency, access funding, strengthen community benefits, and contribute to local climate action.
Working closely with FEL colleagues and a Community Renewables Officer supported by Community Energy Scotland, you
will coordinate activities that help clubs understand the benefits of sustainable energy practices and access
wider opportunities available through community energy initiatives.
The role will involve organising and delivering workshops, events and engagement activities, supporting Club Energy
Champions, gathering evidence of impact, and maintaining effective partnerships with clubs, communities and
stakeholders.
While the role will provide light-touch energy awareness advice and signposting, specialist household energy
enquiries will be referred to FEL's Home Energy Advice Team where appropriate.
