Role
We are seeking a National Family Support Development Officer (Neurodiversity and Substance Use) to join our national team. This is a new post and project area developed in response to an identified need. Through our ongoing work with families, we have identified that substance use can create additional challenges for neurodivergent individuals and their families.
The post-holder will be responsible for leading the development, delivery, support and promotion of a range of family and peer support opportunities for family members affected by someone else's substance use and neurodiversity. This role will operate on a national basis and in partnership with statutory and third sector partners, including but not limited to CAMHS , Social Work, the Children's Panel and Reporters Office, as well as through engagement with local Alcohol & Drug Partnerships. This role will entail working alongside families, using evidence-based practice to tailor and develop our support offer, ensuring neurodivergent individuals and their unpaid carers can access the right help in a way that works for them.
This is a national post which will involve significant travel across Scotland, as well as work at our national office at Robertson House in Glasgow. It is expected that the post holder will be required to work some evenings and occasional weekends. This post will be part of Scottish Families’ staff team and be managed by the Senior National Family Support Practitioner.
We are looking for candidates who are educated to degree level or have a relevant professional qualification and have experience of supporting neurodiverse individuals or families. Candidates should have strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.

About the Role
The Finance Manager is the most senior finance professional within the Commission, responsible for delivering robust financial management, statutory compliance, payroll oversight, and strategic financial advice. You will oversee an annual budget of approximately £7m and act as the organisation’s subject matter expert for all financial matters.
Working closely with the Head of Culture & Corporate Services, you will lead on:
• Financial reporting, analysis and advice to the CEO, executive leadership team and the Board
• Annual budget setting and multi-year forecasting
• Year-end accounts and external/internal audit
• Payroll and the annual pay award process in line with Scottish Government Pay Policy
• Financial controls, policies, procedures and risk management
• Procurement compliance and value for money
• Managing the shared services arrangement with Scottish Government (Oracle)
This role offers significant autonomy, influence and the opportunity to shape financial stewardship across the organisation.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings:
• A professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent)
• Significant experience in public sector financial management
• Strong knowledge of the Scottish Public Finance Manual (SPFM) and Scottish Government Pay Policy
• Experience managing payroll and related processes
• Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
• The ability to work independently across a wide remit
• A commitment to public sector values, integrity and continuous improvement
• People management experience and familiarity with Scottish Government shared services (Oracle) is desirable.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support & Development Worker to join our Midlothian Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. This post is fixed term and is funded by Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership.
The successful applicant will support people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties by developing, organising and delivering community-based green, art and active groups. You will work in a person-centered, trauma informed, strength-based and creative way, supporting people with a range of issues important to their mental health and well-being. You will also recruit, coordinate, support and supervise volunteers who co-facilitate groups, help promote services and resources and actively contribute to shaping services.

This key role within the People Team will develop and oversee our proactive organisational training and development programme to meet the needs of colleagues at all levels across the Charity. The main focus and responsibility will be identifying and coordinating training and development opportunities that support the needs of our whole workforce and consistently deliver high-quality training opportunities that support our staff and our services. The role

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the post holder shares collective responsibility for leading the Commission's work to safeguard the rights and welfare of individuals, promote compliance with mental health and incapacity legislation, and improve standards of care and practice across Scotland.
As the Commission's professional nursing lead, the post holder will also provide leadership on issues affecting people with mental illness, learning disabilities, dementia and related conditions, as well as broader adult and child protection matters.
The role requires strong national leadership in mental health and learning disability nursing, influencing policy, practice and service development across Scotland while providing expert advice on complex ethical, human rights, legal and care issues.
This vacancy (as a result of retirement) comes at an exciting time as the reform of Scotland’s mental health and incapacity legislation begins to pick up pace.
About you
- A registered nurse (RMN or RNLD) with substantial senior nursing leadership experience.
