Dr Bell’s Family Centre has been supporting families in Leith since 2006 to thrive and feel safe, supported, and
healthy. We offer a welcoming, safe place where families with young children can get support, advice, and

Dr Bell’s Family Centre is seeking an experienced, values-led Community Development Manager to lead the development
and delivery of our family and community support programmes and help shape the next phase of our organisation’s
development
Based in Leith, Dr Bell’s has supported families with young children since 2006, offering a unique, holistic model
that brings early years childcare, therapeutic services, family learning, food and nutrition, and community
support together under one roof.
Working closely within the leadership team, the Community Development Manager will:
• Lead the development and delivery of family support and group work programmes in Leith, identifying barriers to
participation and creating opportunities that respond to the needs and priorities of local families.
• Contribute to the strategic planning and development of Dr Bell’s Family Centre, working closely with the Senior
Leadership Team to shape services, identify priorities and support the organisation’s wider goals.
• Build and nurture strong partnerships across the community, working with local organisations, professionals and
community members to strengthen support, increase referrals and create new opportunities for families.
• Empower families and the wider community to shape and lead services, supporting volunteers, peer supporters and
community members to develop their skills and take an active role in the Centre.
• Monitor, evaluate and demonstrate the impact of our work, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation systems are
embedded across programmes and contributing to reporting, fundraising and the long-term sustainability of the
organisation.
This role will suit a collaborative community development professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on
delivery, and who is passionate about reducing barriers, strengthening communities and improving outcomes for
families experiencing socio-economic disadvantage
