About Intercultural Youth Scotland
Intercultural Youth Scotland (IYS) was founded in 2019 in response to the need for safe spaces where young people could connect, share experiences, and drive meaningful change. Every programme and service we offer has been shaped directly by the voices of the young people we support. What began with a focus on Youth Work has grown to include Education, Advocacy, Employability, and a pioneering Mental Health Service, each designed with the lived experiences of Scotland’s young Black people and young People of Colour at its core.
We are dedicated to amplifying youth voices, challenging systemic racism, and creating spaces where young people feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Our approach is not about ticking boxes - it’s about real change. We don’t do surface-level diversity initiatives. We work directly with young people to dismantle barriers in education, employment, policy, and youth work.
Our work is driven by lived experience, ensuring that the voices of young people not just included but are leading the conversation.
The Role
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our Board of Trustees to provide strategic oversight and ensure the voices of BPOC young people remain at the heart of everything we do.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
• Financial Oversight/Accountancy: Supporting our long-term sustainability.
• Public Policy & Advocacy: Helping us navigate the Scottish political landscape.
• Lived Experience: We strongly encourage young BPOC leaders and those with lived experience of the barriers our community faces to apply.
However, we welcome interest from people of all backgrounds. Different perspectives strengthen our governance, and your experience may be exactly what we need.
Your Commitment
• Quarterly Board meetings (held in Edinburgh/Hybrid).
• Occasional participation in sub-committees or strategic planning days.
• A commitment to the principles of anti-racism and youth empowerment.

Purpose of the role
The Administrator supports the smooth day-to-day running of The Welcoming Association and is often the first point of contact for service users, volunteers, and visitors. The role helps create a welcoming, safe, and respectful environment, provides essential administrative and HR support to staff, and ensures that records, information, and office systems are accurate, secure, and well-maintained.
The Administrator plays a key role in supporting service delivery, organisational efficiency, safeguarding, and the overall positive experience of people engaging with The Welcoming Association.

Please note that you must already be eligible to work in the UK to be employed by The Welcoming Association.
The post holder will work from The Welcoming’s office on 20/1 Westfield Avenue, Edinburgh, EH11 2TT.

Would you like to support an ambitious, values-driven charity that helps inspire and empower young people facing disadvantage? We are recruiting two Trustees to join our Board and help guide Urban Uprising through an exciting period of growth.
About Urban Uprising
Urban Uprising improves the life chances of disadvantaged young people through rock climbing.
Our programmes support physical, social and personal development, giving young people access to highly trained, positive adult role models. We work with those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to take part in activities like climbing, helping them build confidence, resilience and a sense of possibility.
We currently work in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Cambridge and Bristol, partnering with local youth organisations to reach young people experiencing disadvantage, often from deprived communities.
Our Board
Urban Uprising is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) with a committed and supportive Board of Trustees drawn from a range of backgrounds.
The Board meets at least four times per year, with additional engagement and input as needed between meetings. Trustees work collaboratively with each other and the staff team to ensure strong governance, strategic direction and long-term sustainability.
The role
Trustees play a central role in the governance of Urban Uprising and support the charity’s mission and values at a strategic level.
We are looking for two people to join the Board. We are intentionally keeping this role open and skills-agnostic and are keen to hear from people who are motivated, thoughtful and care deeply about supporting young people.
No previous Trustee experience is required. Induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.

In becoming a trustee, you will be leading our efforts to ensure there is No Life Half Lived in Scotland and ensure that CHSS is best placed to meet our strategic goal of No Life Half Lived. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we embark on the second year of our new strategy.

We are currently seeking to enhance our Board of Directors through the recruitment of suitable volunteers. A commitment to young people and youth work is essential and experience in GDPR, management of voluntary organisations or strategic development would be advantageous.
The Board of Directors meet bimonthly at our main office in Dumbryden Drive. Meetings are in the evening but the dates of meetings are agreed by Board Members. There is no remuneration for Board Members, however, all reasonable expenses are reimbursed.
This role is subject to PVG Membership.
