Advocacy Highland is seeking a visionary leader to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer, guiding our passionate team and driving the organisation forward in a time of growth and change. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate.

About You
You will bring:
- Proven leadership experience, ideally within the voluntary or third sector
- Strong financial management skills with experience desirable in securing and managing major grants and funding streams
- A solid understanding of relevant legislation and policy
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners
- A genuine passion for advocacy, social justice and human rights
Experience in independent advocacy is preferred but not essential. A full driving licence and PVG membership are required. Two references will be requested, including one from your current or most recent employer.

Gateway is an established charitable organisation which provides Outreach Care & Support in addition to Supported Accommodations across Highland communities.
A position has arisen for a Service Manager with a positive mindset who motivates and drives others forward with enthusiasm and inspiration. You will display outstanding management skills, be proactive and have the ability to engage with others, leading by example. The role requires an individual with relevant experience in the management of people and care at home services. The Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our Care at Home delivery, in Inverness and Wester Ross, reflects best practice and contemporary thinking. In addition, as a member of Gateway’s Senior Management team you will be involved in Gateway’s service planning, performance management, audit and policy development processes.

Applicants will require to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. All applicants will have a full driving licence and access to their own car for work purposes.

The Enchanted Forest Community Trust (EFCT) is the charity behind Scotland’s longest-running and most successful sound and light show—an award-winning immersive experience that draws approximately 85,000 visitors each year and contributes around £10 million annually to the Highland Perthshire economy. The Role of CEO:
In 2026, as EFCT celebrates its milestone 25th event and welcomes its 1,000,000th visitor, the organisation is looking to the future and seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead its next chapter.
The new CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to steer the long-term strategic direction of the charity, ensuring the continued success, sustainability and creative evolution of its flagship event. They will safeguard the Trust’s financial health, uphold best-practice governance, and provide strong, values-led leadership to the operations, creative, and production teams. As the public ambassador for EFCT, the CEO will build and nurture key relationships with partners, funders, local authorities, media, and the wider community—protecting the reputation of the event and amplifying its impact.
The CEO will also oversee the Trust’s community grant-giving programme, ensuring that the surplus generated by the event continues to benefit organisations across Highland Perthshire in meaningful and impactful ways. With responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operational delivery, risk oversight and compliance, they will ensure that the Trust continues to operate transparently, ethically, and sustainably.
Candidates will bring proven senior leadership experience, ideally gained in a creative, cultural, events, charity or tourism environment. They will have successfully led organisations through development and change, managed complex operational programmes, and implemented financially sound, future-focused strategies. The Role of CEO:
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic leadership and overall direction for EARS Independent Advocacy Service, ensuring the organisation delivers high-quality, rights-based advocacy, operates sustainably and meets all governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
You will lead the organisation’s strategic direction, priorities and objectives, ensuring alignment with EARS’ charitable purpose, advocacy principles and contractual obligations within the wider Scottish policy, funding and commissioning landscape. Acting as the organisation’s principal ambassador, you will represent EARS locally, regionally and nationally, promoting the value and impact of independent advocacy.
The CEO will hold overall accountability for governance, performance, risk and financial sustainability, working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to support effective oversight and decision-making. You will oversee significant contractual relationships and income streams, ensuring robust contract management, high-quality reporting and strong relationships with commissioners and funders.
Day-to-day operational management is delegated to the Operations Manager, with the CEO retaining strategic oversight and accountability. You will provide visible, consistent leadership, promoting a positive, professional and values-led organisational culture, and leading the organisation confidently through challenge and change.
What you need to bring:
EARS is seeking a values-driven and resilient leader with a strong commitment to equality, human rights and social justice. This role requires someone with proven senior leadership experience within the third sector or public service environment in Scotland, with a strong track record of working effectively with a Board of Trustees. Experience of financial leadership, contract management and commissioning environments is a strong desirable, including tendering and managing local authority contracts.
You will be confident operating in a regulated environment, with a sound understanding of charity governance, risk management and compliance. With a strategic mindset, you will be able to translate vision into practical plans and measurable outcomes, being a calm, credible leader capable of navigating complexity and organisational change. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to act as an effective ambassador for EARS and independent advocacy more broadly.
