About Us: The Health Agency is a community-led charity based in Wester Hailes, supporting over 2,000 people each year. We work alongside our community to reduce health inequalities and help people live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Our services provide information, advice and support to address the challenges our community faces, including poor mental health, long-term ill-health, food insecurity, and the effects of poverty and loneliness. By empowering people to take control of their wellbeing, we also strengthen our community’s resilience and capacity for change.
Current Opportunities: We are seeking two Trustees and a Treasurer to join our Board.
- Trustees: We welcome people from all backgrounds who can bring insight, commitment, and lived or professional experience to help shape our work. Skills in health, social care, governance, fundraising, or marketing are particularly valuable, but not essential. Training and support are provided.
- Treasurer: We are looking for a qualified accountant or senior finance professional to provide financial leadership and ensure good governance.
Commitment: Around 6 Board meetings a year, plus our AGM and Development Day. The Treasurer also chairs 6 Finance Sub-Committee meetings annually.

Lead a National Service That Changes Lives Every Day
This is a rare opportunity to take on a newly created national role at the heart of CHAS’s mission. Every week in Scotland, three children die from a life‑shortening condition. CHAS is there for them - and for their families - providing unwavering, compassionate, specialist care.
Our Family Support teams include senior social workers, child and family workers, play specialists and other experts, working hand‑in‑hand with clinical colleagues across our two hospices, in hospitals, and in homes and communities across Scotland.
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Family Support to shape and lead the full breadth of these services - from child & family support and therapeutic activities to bereavement, spiritual care and financial wellbeing. Your leadership will ensure families receive holistic, responsive and trauma‑informed support wherever and whenever they need it.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Family Support, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership across all CHAS family support services
- Lead teams across hospices, hospitals and community settings
- Act as CHAS’s Safeguarding Lead, offering expert oversight and driving safe, compassionate practice organisation-wide.
- Champion continuous improvement, helping families make the most of their precious time together
- Strengthen resilience and support families navigating life-altering adverse experiences.
About You
You will bring:
- Significant leadership experience in children’s services, operating confidently at senior level
- A professional social work qualification, with deep knowledge of GIRFEC, UNCRC and Scottish policy
- Expertise in child protection, safeguarding, and adult support and protection
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in emotionally complex environments
- Excellent partnership skills, working across HSCPs, local authorities, NHS and the third sector
- A compassionate, values‑driven approach that supports wellbeing, reflection and professional growth
- Confidence in shaping high‑quality, impactful services

About you
Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives? We are looking for someone with experience of delivering high quality supporter journeys and delivering fundraising projects and activities to join our Legacy & In Memory Giving team. Helping to grow income and supporting and delivering the Legacy & In Memory Giving fundraising strategy.
You will have excellent communication, organisational and IT skills with good attention to detail and be able to follow procedures accurately. Being successful in building effective relationships, self-motivated with the ability to manage a wide range of tasks under pressure and committed to making a difference is essential.
Previous experience of working in a cancer or healthcare charity, talking to bereaved and vulnerable supporters and using Raiser’s Edge or a similar CRM system would be an advantage but not essential.
About the role
The Legacy & In Memory Giving Fundraiser will help support and deliver the Legacy and In Memory Giving fundraising strategy. You will have compassionate communication skills, especially when talking to supporters who are recently bereaved and you will develop and deliver outstanding stewardship programmes that offer support and drive retention.
This role requires using data and insight to help deliver the Legacy marketing programme, whilst also supporting the day-to-day Legacy and estate administration, dealing with solicitors, legal representatives and executors. You will proactively develop In Memory Giving fundraising, maximising the fundraising products, channels and messaging already available, as well as identifying new opportunities that are suitable for the Legacy & In Memory audience.
The role will also include working with colleagues, maximising cross team collaboration and ensuring appropriate Legacy and In Memory stewardship across all fundraising specialisms.

Alternatives Community-based Recovery, based in West Dunbartonshire is seeking applications for new Directors for its Board. We seek individuals to become Board members to act as the "mind" of Alternatives WD CDS by collectively working together to:
- Determine Alternatives mission and purpose;
- Set a strategic vision and plan;
- Ensure that Alternatives is financially and legally accountable;
- Appoint and monitor Alternatives’ manager;
- Ensure Alternatives has adequate resources;
- Work to enhance Alternatives’ public image; and
- Assess the board's effectiveness.
In practice, this may involve tasks such as:
- Setting and approving budgets
- Managing risk
- Keeping on top of relevant laws and regulations
- Approving major programs and projects undertaken by the group in achieving its mission

- Representing stakeholders' views during meetings
- Speaking about Alternatives at functions
- Acting as Alternatives media spokesperson

- Working with the client group to gain a better understanding of the work carried out at Alternatives.
Also, our current Chair is moving on at the end of July, so we are especially seeking new Directors who might be willing to stand for the position of Chair in due course, having worked alongside the current incumbent for a few months.
