To develop and lead the implementation of a strategic communications plan delivering high-quality coverage and resources to capitalise on high awareness of the power of personal music to help dementia and increase it further. You will support our work to empower people in communities to create and use playlists, encourage people to support our work through donations, undertaking training or sharing our message. Playlist for Life is the UK’s leading music and dementia charity. We are seeking a Communications and Campaigns Lead to join our small but highly skilled team to improve the lives of people living with dementia, their families and carers through personalised playlists.

Playlist for Life has a simple vision: we want everyone with dementia to have a unique personal playlist and for everyone who loves or cares for them to know how to use it.

The Communications and Campaigns Lead will play a key role in our team to develop and lead the implementation of a strategic communications plan to elevate our brand and help us increase our reach and impact. We are looking for a dynamic, creative and skilled individual that has empathy with our aims, a strong understanding of the sector we operate in and is driven to make a difference

You must have empathy with Playlist for Life’s aims, values and objectives and strong understanding of the sector Playlist for Life operates in. Understanding the third sector and best practice in communications and marketing is essential. You will ensure a consistent ‘tone of voice’ for the charity and ensure its messages are delivered uniformly across platforms to maximise impact.

Our lives are so often shaped by our childhoods.

When problems are bottled up in those important early years, they can grow into mental health issues later in life.

But young children don’t have the language skills to properly express what they’re going through. And often when their emotions do come out they can be loud, or scary or get them into trouble.

That’s where With Kids comes in - a unique children’s mental health charity operating across the central belt at the forefront of the provision of Play Therapy in Scotland

Our trained specialists give children the freedom to express their difficulties on their own terms. Using the one form of communication that comes naturally to them – play.

Play Therapy empowers children to understand themselves better, to process life events, and to build confidence and self-esteem. So they can better regulate their emotions, build stronger relationships with their families and peers, and learn to cope with life’s many challenges.

We work alongside the children from an early age, along with their parents, carers, schools and communities – aiming to build long term, self-supporting networks.

Our priorities are to contribute to addressing cycles of poverty by improving the mental health of children, their families and the wider community.

Because difficulties in childhood don’t have to direct our whole lives.

The role

This new role brings an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated individual with extensive fundraising experience to shape the future of With Kids.

You can expect a supportive management team, who take joint responsibility, while you take on the management of all strands of income generation and fundraising. Through this work

you will be helping to shape the future of With Kids and enabling our staff to provide children and families with a high-quality service.

Are you able to hit the ground running with applications to trusts and foundations, while developing other income generation activities and relationships to build income from corporate bodies, individuals, and communities?

The post-holder has the scope to build our relationships with corporate bodies and increase income from individual and community fundraising activities. The role may also lead on, and provide support to, the Business Development Manager and CEO in tendering opportunities.

Ideally you will be a skilled communicator and have the ability to use digital tools and lead on managing online campaigns for income generation.

It’s not expected that the post holder will necessarily have experience in all of these areas, so there is scope to influence the content of our fundraising strategy and develop new skills.

We provide 1-1 and group-based befriending, mentoring, and family support services tailored to those who need it most. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, you will oversee the development of participant support models, cultivate strategic partnerships with statutory and third-sector organisations, and ensure services meet the objectives outlined in grant or tender agreements.

• A degree in Health & Social Care, Youth Work, Community Development, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in service delivery roles within the third sector or public sector.
• Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating teams.
• Flexible, innovative, and solution-focused approach to leadership and service delivery.
• Experience in service planning, delivery, and evaluation, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes
• Strong knowledge and experience of safeguarding, compliance, and risk management.
• Excellent communication, financial management, and strategic thinking skills.
• A deep understanding of the needs of vulnerable children, young people, and families.
