Role
Inspired by the Gaelic word Dùthchas – meaning the deep-rooted connection between people and nature – Cairngorms 2030 is putting the power to tackle the climate and nature crisis in the hands of people who live, visit and work in the UK’s largest national park. The programme will put local people at the heart of decision-making; work with land managers to restore and enhance landscapes; make getting around the Park easier, safer and greener; and foster healthier, happier communities with wellbeing at their heart. Cairngorms 2030 is an unprecedented partnership of over 70 organisations and is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.
We are opening recruitment for a post of Community Engagement Coordinator, which is one of several roles to deliver this programme.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join the CNPA to lead on the effective engagement required across the 20 C2030 projects.

The Role:
This role is one of two Community Engagement Coordinators. Together, you will report to the Cairngorms 2030 Engagement Officer, and will lead on the engagement activity required for the 20 projects across C2030. Working alongside a fellow C2030 Engagement Coordinator, C2030 Project Officers, the C2030 Communications Coordinator and consultants as required, you will enable meaningful engagement activity to take place in a cohesive way across the programme. This will be undertaken while testing and reviewing new methods of engagement as appropriate, and reporting on the learning and review of these innovative methods.
You will be responsible for delivering engagement activity, working with the team to develop and create engagement materials and resources for a variety of Cairngorms 2030 projects. Activities include: design and delivery of events, workshops and engagement sessions and working alongside project managers to understand and deliver specific project outcomes. All of this work will reflect our brand guidelines and accessibility standards as minimum, with a focus on engaging with key audiences including LGBTQ+, young people, ethnic minorities and less heard voices within the Park.
In all of the above, it is expected that you will bring the core principles of the Cairngorms 2030 programme to life and act as a champion of them. These principles are widening participation, co-design and partnership working.

About You:
- To be considered as our Community Engagement Coordinator, you’ll need:
- Considerable experience of delivering and developing community / stakeholder engagement, and reporting on outcomes of engagement.
- Experience of delivering a project on time and on budget.
- Experience of organising and delivering events
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also individually to complete tasks.
- Real attention to detail and ability to establish and follow clear processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both presentation and written.
- Ability to work constructively with a range of internal officers and partners.
- Good proactive networker outside and inside the organisation.
- Good team player
- Computer literate – eg able to use Microsoft Office suite,
- Full UK driving licence or access to driver if disability prevents driving
- Permission to work in the UK

Watch Us Grow is a charity based in Palacerigg Country Park on the outskirts of Cumbernauld. We work with adults who have Additional Support Needs. Our aim is to help people become more independent both at home and within the communities they live. We do this by creating purposeful, educational and work style roles that build skills, knowledge and self confidence in our students. We work both outside in our public garden growing and selling plants and inside our house where we learn the skills to live more independently.
Job Description
The job will involve you driving a 9-seater minibus and a van. So clean driving license is required.
We are looking for someone to join our team as a project worker on our home skills and hospitality project. You will be supporting our students to learn how to live more independently in their own home or taking a more active role in a shared home. This will include cooking, cleaning, laundry, organizing home spaces, shopping and identifying any other needs each student may have and working on it with them. You will work with students to create a clear 8-week personalized schedule of learning; you will support students with positivity, patience and clarity and at a pace that works for each student individually.
You will also be part of a team developing a new opportunity which will see students working directly with the public serving refreshments.
Watch us Grow is looking for a person who enjoys keeping a house tidy and in order. Someone who has experience in housekeeping, catering or hospitality but most importantly someone who can guide and support our students to thrive. You will be guiding students, documenting all their achievements and activities, working towards personal goals for each individual, inspiring students to learn more and providing them with a purposeful role.
You will also be part of our weekly social activity evenings which include arts and crafts projects, movie clubs, games night and sports activities.
This job will involve you being creative, organized, good at planning, able to engage imaginations and keep things evolving. We are an organization that embrace and try out creative ideas.
Watch Us Grow is known primarily for its work outdoors in the garden, we teach about horticulture, wildlife and nature, we grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. You will be required to work outside at times, we are a small team and work together on everything.
You will report to the General Manager and work within an existing and established staff team to develop Watch Us Grow in new and exciting directions.
You will need to be enthusiastic and patient, showing an understanding of people with additional support needs. You will have experience in either Housekeeping, Catering or Hospitality in a commercial, You will need to be creative, friendly and engaging.
Duties and responsibilities
- Collect and drop off students before and after a shift. (Shared role)
- Support our students and volunteers in all aspects of their work offering an experience which is purposeful and fulfilling both physically and mentally.
- Ensure a safe working practice which will keep all areas safe for visitors, members, volunteers and staff.
- Ensure that all Health & Safety and Hygiene legislation is adhered to.
- Help to create and deliver engaging projects for our students.
- Help students to complete in-house and external qualifications.
- Working some evenings and weekends on social activities or on other fund raising events
- Work closely with all of the Watch Us Grow staff team
- Work that may include representing and promoting the values and work of Watch Us Grow at events
- Any other tasks and activities as reasonably required to fulfil the needs of the organisation.

Energy Advice Coordinator – Community Energy Empowerment Programme (CEEP)

As our Energy Advice Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in helping people make changes to the way they live that will be good for them and good for the planet. You’ll be focused on helping our Energy team deliver our new Community Energy Empowerment Programme across the Forth Valley and Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park region. This programme is closely linked to our Climate Hub programme, and as such you will liaise closely with the Climate Coordinator, to ensure both teams add value and maximise outcomes.
You’ll also work with FEL partners to unlock investment and kick-start new initiatives around environmental sustainability and tackling climate change. You’ll lead a small team looking after volunteer recruitment, support and retention for this new programme, and will occasionally be needed to work evenings or weekends. Your base will be at our main Stirling offices, but we support hybrid and home working too. This role involves travelling to community centres and private residences across the Forth Valley.
