Role

Home-Start is the leading family support charity striving to give young children the best possible start in life. We work with families to help them overcome issues such as isolation, mental health difficulties, bereavement, family breakdown, addiction, physical ill-health and many others.

We were the first Home-Start in Scotland and have been supporting local families in Perth & Kinross for over 40 years.

We're looking for a Finance and Business Officer to play a central role within our organisation, including a wide range of responsibilities from managing all financial aspects and providing management information to contributing to funding and organisational strategy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant accounting qualification (HND or higher) or at least 5 years’ experience
  • Knowledge and experience of working to a budget and of book-keeping and banking
  • Knowledge of Sage Accountant and Payroll programme and strong IT skill including Excel
  • Proven experience in management accounting – generating and analysing periodic financial information for decision making, scenario planning, forecasting and budgeting
  • Practical knowledge of charity reporting regulations and Charity SORP
  • High standards of practice and presentation at work
  • Ability to work under own initiative and as a team member
  • Experience and knowledge of the voluntary sector would be an advantage
  • This role will involve an element of hybrid home/office work
