We are looking for a Forth Valley based Pathways Coordinator, to work in partnership with the current MCR team, young
people, mentors, school and college partners
About the role:
You will be an integral part of the school and college community across Forth Valley as well as the wider MCR team.
You will be the key person delivering the MCR programme to young people across Forth Valley College supporting
young people to sustain their destination.
Key responsibilities:
- Helping to build exceptional individual relationships with the current schools team, young people and mentors to
support transitions to Forth Valley College
- Facilitate the MCR Programme across Forth Valley College to
offer enhanced support to young people to sustain post school destinations
- Play a key role in supporting
young people and mentors across Forth Valley schools and within the local community
- Helping to drive
volunteer mentor recruitment
- Consistently supporting, actively engaging and motivating mentors from
training through the length of their engagement with the programme. Actively support MCR young people to set,
experience then follow their post school pathways.
- Work in partnership with the MCR Team, Skills
Development Scotland, Widening Access Colleagues, schools and other key partners
- Evidence progression,
impact and best practice with YP input, quantitative feedback and qualitative case studies
About you:
- Exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with young people, education colleagues, volunteer
mentors, key partners and local employers
- Awareness and understanding of the principles of safeguarding
and child and young adult protection
- Ability and confidence to present programme information and deliver
prepared training sessions to groups
- Ability to work well on own initiative, as part of a team and on a
flexible basis in response to young person and organisational need
- An understanding of the challenges
and barriers that care-experienced and/or vulnerable young people and young adults may
encounter
- Experience or a knowledge of processes to document and evidence good practice and positive
outcomes.
You may have experience as a Youth, Community or Advice Worker. You will be an empathetic person who is open minded,
non-judgemental, resilient and who is driven to improve outcomes for care experienced and other vulnerable young
people.

MCR Pathways is an award-winning charity established in Glasgow in 2007. Our mentoring programme is now delivered in
schools across the whole of Scotland. Our passionate team is dedicated to helping the most vulnerable young
people gain self-confidence, identify their skills and recognise and fulfil their potential. Our vision is for
all young people to experience equality of education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances. Our
in-school mentoring has profound impacts on school pupils in their confidence, wellbeing, achievement and
post-school progression.

support mentored young people post school and are really looking forward to working in partnership with Forth
Valley College. MCR Mentors are volunteers who make and experience a life-changing difference. You will be
