Additionally, we are dedicated to raising awareness about the widespread impact of domestic abuse in our communities. Community Gardener

Are you a skilled gardener who wants to contribute to creating a nurturing garden environment for veterans and their families? Do you have experience supporting people who may have experienced mental health difficulties, and delivering group activities or workshops?
If so, this could be the role for you!
About Linburn Walled Garden
The Linburn Walled Garden sits in the grounds of Sight Scotland Veterans in Wilkieston, West Lothian. At the garden, we focus on growing food, skills, and community. This half acre garden offers a place where veterans and their families can connect, learn new skills, and benefit from activities which promote positive relationships.
About the role
The Community Gardener will support the coordination and facilitation of family events and workshops hosted in the walled garden for veterans, their families and Scotland’s Veterans’ Wellbeing Alliance partners. The post-holder will also support the planning and maintenance of the walled garden. The main responsibilities for the role include:
- Support the year-round maintenance of the walled garden
- Provide informal support to veterans and their families who visit the walled garden
- Co-facilitate groups, workshops and events, including family open days
- Support volunteers to carry out various gardening activities
The role will work primarily during the day on weekdays, although some weekend work will be required.
The post is currently funded until September 2026 with hope to extend beyond this date.
About You
You’ll be an experienced gardener with an interest in supporting others to enjoy the benefits of gardening and the outdoors. You should also have:
- Great relationship building skills
- Experience in maintaining a garden throughout the seasons
- Experience co-facilitating groups, workshops and events
- Experience supporting people who may have experienced trauma

We’ll encourage you to be creative and innovative, and to take a pragmatic approach to planning and implementing new initiatives. You’ll have passionate people around you and a supportive manager. Assistant Key Worker

About Crighton Place
Located in Leith, Crighton Place provides supported accommodation and mental health support for up to four people as they make the transition from hospital care back into the community. Our Community model is based on Cyrenians core values, prioritising trusted relationships and putting the person at the heart of the decisions which matter most to them.
About the role
The Assistant Keyworker will work alongside Keyworkers to provide support to individuals living in the community and create a healthy and safe household for the community. The main responsibilities for the role include:
- Supporting our residents with household chores including cooking and cleaning
- Administer medication to residents (training will be provided)
- Ensure all community members are involved in planning and development of the service
About You
As a committed, compassionate and reliable member of the team, you’ll be able to develop trusted relationships with those we support and with your colleagues and be an encouraging presence but able to work at the pace of the individual.
You will be joining a small team of staff committed to the highest quality of care and support and always striving to do develop further. This means there will be great opportunities for you to both learn and develop, while sharing your skills and experiences.
The shift pattern for this role will be Monday, Saturday and Sunday.

You’ll be joining an experienced and knowledgeable team who will give you full training on all aspects of your role. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme, and staff wellbeing services.

Youth Housing Hub Co-ordinator

Rock Trust are delighted to offer a new position of Youth Housing Hub Coordinator in Glasgow, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Fund.
The service will provide support and advice to young people to prevent homelessness. Where homelessness cannot be avoided, services will ensure it is rare, brief, and non-recurring by assisting young people to establish appropriate professional and other supportive networks, to support a successful transition to permanent, independent accommodation.
The role is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to coordinate a comprehensive one-stop support shop for young homeless people and those at risk of homelessness aged 16 to 25 years old by providing access to essential services and information across areas such as health education and other key support needs.
As HUB Coordinator, you will be responsible for establishing, managing, and developing the HUB to effectively meet the needs of the young people accessing its services. You will oversee the delivery of support services foster partnerships with external agencies, guide staff, and ensure the HUB operates smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leading on the setup and development of the HUB, including establishing processes and resources.
• Ensuring the HUB provides effective, person-centred support to young people.
• Building and maintaining strong partnerships with external agencies concerning young people's support needs within the HUB
• Overseeing the assessment process and development of the service
• Monitoring the HUB's performance, reporting on key outcomes, and ensuring compliance with all policies and safeguarding practices.
• Managing budget and resources to deliver cost-effective services.
• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for young people and staff.
• Developing and implementing strategies to ensure the HUB meets the needs of its users and adapts to emerging challenges.
• Acting as a key advocate for young homeless people and raising awareness of the HUB’s services in the community.
What We Are Looking For:
• Proven experience of working in support services, ideally for young people or vulnerable groups.
• Experience in service development, including setting up a new project/programme.
• Knowledge of homelessness issues, including safeguarding, and housing legislation.
• Ability to build effective partnerships with external agencies and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• A compassionate, non-judgmental approach and a passion for supporting young people.
• Budget management experience and a focus on delivering quality, outcomes-based services.

As a member of our Board, you will be instrumental in guiding the strategic future of the charity and ensuring exemplary governance and fiscal control. The main Board meets four times a year and board members will be expected to be a member of one of the sub committees. You will also act as a local ambassador for Cornerstone.
We are keen to hear from those with skills, knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas who feel they can make a positive contribution to our charitable activities: -
Senior management experience in the social work / social care sector preferably with strategic planning skills
Accountancy/financial experience preferably at management level
Personal experience of providing care and support of a relative or carer of a person who has experience of care
