Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for adults and young people of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

Key Responsibilities:

• High-level Financial Oversight: Review financial reports and monitor the organisation’s financial stability
• Board Communication: Keep the board informed about financial matters and update them of the organisation’s financial health
• Budget Oversight: Provide oversight and input to the annual budgeting process
• Annual Statutory Accounts: Assist in the preparation, review and approval of the annual statutory accounts
• Flagging Issues: The Treasurer should be capable of identifying and isolating financial issues, even if they are minor, and raising flags when necessary

What We’re Looking For:

• Experienced Professional: Ideally with a career background as a Financial Director or Financial Controller or similar (e.g. financial services)
• Confident Communicator: Able to inspire confidence, provide reassurance and communicate financial matters clearly to fellow Board members whose strengths may not include numeracy
• Strategic Thinker: Someone who can provide high-level oversight and has a keen eye for detail
• Familiarity with Charity Finance: Understanding of charity finance issues and governance, though specific software experience (e.g., XERO) is not required

Vintage Vibes is an award-winning charity (SCIO SC054011) tackling loneliness and isolation in over 60s across Edinburgh. Since 2015, we’ve created hundreds of lasting friendships between local older people (our VIPs) and volunteers of all ages, transforming lives and communities in every postcode.

This year, we’ve stepped into an exciting new phase: becoming an independent charity after almost a decade of impact within a charitable partnership between LifeCare and Space @ Broomhouse Hub.

What kind of Chair are we looking for?

You will support the secure foundation from which the Vintage Vibes strategy and day-to-day delivery can develop with our trademark confidence, experimentation and energy!

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Calm, grounded, and experienced - able to offer perspective in both steady and stormy moments
• A compassionate and firm champion of good governance, good relationships and good culture
• Passionate about empowering others - and skilled at knowing when to listen, when to guide, and when to let autonomy shine
• Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and growth - and unafraid of thoughtful and healthy risk
• Adept at navigating some of the acronyms and buzzwords of the charity space, but who chooses to favour honest, human language and conversations in day-to-day practice
• Experienced in chairing or vice-chairing a board (or similar leadership), but open to evolving what leadership can look like and learning alongside a new organisation that values ‘doing things differently’

This is not a traditional top-down chair role. It’s not about leading the organisation’s strategy or developing big ideas — our community voices and staff team hold that role in collaboration with the board of trustees. Instead, you’ll be the incredible foundation that helps Vintage Vibes thrive: the sounding board, the sense-check, the collaborator, the calm facilitator of trust and transparency at the centre, from which the burst of energy that is our work can grow.

You’ll be supported by a committed board and a passionate team. You’ll help embed a healthy, hopeful culture of collaboration, and ensure our governance and relationships grow as we do.

Gateway is looking to recruit two new Board Members.

Gateway is one of the leading charitable organisations in Highland, providing a diverse range of services in Inverness City, Easter Ross and Wester Ross.

We provide services for vulnerable adults including Care at Home, Community Housing Support, and supported accommodation.

We are looking to recruit an additional two Board members to join our experienced team of Directors. This is an exciting time for Gateway and members find their work rewarding in so many ways.

As a Director, you will play a crucial role in guiding our organisation through developing the strategy, ensuring we uphold our values and achieve our mission, and making a tangible and positive impact on people’s lives. Our Directors are critical friends whilst providing the senior team with constructive challenge.

We are specifically looking to appoint members based on demonstrable experience and skills in one or more of the following areas:

• Legal and Risk Management;
• Healthcare/Social Care Experience;
• Financial;
• Fundraising.

Your expertise in any of these areas will be invaluable in steering our strategic direction and maintaining robust governance.

Being a Chairty this is a voluntary position, however travel expenses to meetings would be paid.

Board meetings are held quarterly, lasting approximately two hours, and are normally held on a Monday during working hours. These meetings are held in person at our Head Office in Inverness, although we can accommodate a hybrid arrangement to meet the suitable person’s needs.
