Role

GalGael are a community organisation who stand for health, compassion and justice for all. As part of our Making Just Futures project we are looking for a Community Support worker. You’ll add to our capacity to maintain a supportive community where people reclaim skills, agency and their wellbeing.

You’ll be good with people and have experience working in community or health and social care work. This role is for you if you have a capacity for tolerance and patience. The role will be based at our workshop premises near Ibrox Subway.

GalGael is a small community organisation. We create the conditions for people from marginalised communities to reclaim health and agency through working with their hands. This takes place within the context of community woven around woodwork, growing, cooking, eating, boat repair and rowing. Our Making Just Futures project is a practical and participatory response to poverty, poor mental health, inequality, and loneliness and a means to develop capacities necessary for a just transition to net zero carbon.
